English Language comprehension

Error correction questions and fill in the blanks were based on topics as basic as Articles, Prepositions, Collective nouns, subject verb agreement. All of the questions could be attempted with 100 percent accuracy, if the candidates knew the fundamentals well. There were questions on phrases and idioms which needed expansion and explanation. Questions on vocabulary were focused on usage of synonyms and antonyms; fill in the blanks with correct words; spotting the wrong use of words and phrases. There was variation in number of RC passages in some sessions. However, passages were short and contained 200-300 words followed by three questions each. Some of the questions on RC passages were similar to questions based on statement-assumption; statement-conclusion and had reasoning style formation.
Missing topics in English Language comprehension
Questions on Jumbled sentences that need to be formed in a coherent paragraph, missed to appear in most of the sessions. CMAT 2014 FEB used to have short and probably easier questions on jumbled sentences which provided an opportunity to the aspirants to score more since the tricky concepts of grammar and reasoning styled questions on RC passages consumed more time of the candidates. Those who love solving jumbled paragraphs didnt get the opportunity in CMAT 2014 FEB.
