SPJIMR Mumbai final admission list; to offer international immersion to 100% admits

SPJIMR Mumbai declares its final Admission list for the two year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) 2014-16. SPJIMR is the first top B-school in India to announce international immersion for the entire batch of the 240 students.
S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai has declared its list of candidates on March 13 who have been offered admissions to the two year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). SPJIMR is the first top B-school in India to announce international immersion for the entire batch of the 240 students from the class of 2014-2016.

SPJIMR Mumbai received about 20% more applicants as compared to last year for 240 seats for Indian residents and called 2,879 candidates for interviews across Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

SPJIMR has announced two key decisions that aim to strengthen the Global Relevance of the PGDM programme. In details shared with MBAUniverse.com, SPJIMR announced:

- The entire batch of 2014-2016 will undertake advanced courses in their area of specialisation as part of international immersion in a top international B-School and

- Participants ranked within the top 20 in the batch of 2014-2016 based on academic CGPA (at the end of the first year of the programme) will be offered a financial grant of INR 200,000 to go as exchange participants in a partner B-School of international repute.

In recent years, SPJIMR Students have gone as exchange participants to institutions like Cornell University, Purdue University, Michigan State University, Schulick School of Business, York University; University of Maryland, Olin Business School at Washington University and National University of Singapore.

The opportunity of an exchange visit of about eight weeks will be over and above the international immersion.

These SPJIMR Mumbai announcements are expected to give a further boost to the quality of students who have final offers from B-schools like XLRI, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, MDI etc and will finalize to join amongst the top tier B-school in next few weeks.

Along with the admission offers, SPJIMR also announced a wait list of applicants who will move up in the order of their ranking in case anyone offered admission opts out.

Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay, Deputy Director of the PGDM programme said: As we prepare to welcome a new batch, we remind ourselves that SPJIMR is a student-centric institution and the entire faculty and staff at SPJIMR is geared to welcome students and provide them with the best of opportunities for learning, longer term growth and service to society.

Applicants can log in to the SPJIMR website for their status. Candidates offered admissions will get a formal call letter from SPJIMR via e mail and many will also get a personal call from a senior SPJIMR team. Applicants will have to indicate their acceptance and complete the formalities in the time frame specified on the SPJIMR admissions portal.
