After declaration of MAHCET 2014 results and score cards in hand, candidates are eagerly waiting for the display of merit position in CAP by DTE Maharashtra for admission in their dream B schools
For candidates seeking admission against All India Seats, the merit list will be prepared based on the highest percentile score obtained by the candidate

With MAH‐MBA/MMS‐CET 2014 score cards in hand and aspirants already aware about the expected cut off, the wait for final admission round CAP (Centralized Admission Process) to be conducted by DTE Maharashtra w.e.f. May 12 to 22, 2014 has sprung up speculations on calculation formula of merit.

A candidate with a score of 158 and 99.99 percentile would definitely expect to find himself in the best placed merit position as he has scored the highest marks in MAH CET 2014. But it may not necessarily happen. His position in merit may move downwards also due to the merit formation formula of DTE Maharashtra.

MBAUniverse.com brings before you to the opportunity to find your own merit position with parameters as adopted by DTE Maharashtra

Exams included in merit preparation of MAHCET 2014

For Maharashtra State(MS) and Outside Maharashtra State(OMS) candidates seeking admission against All India Seats, apart from MAHCET 2014 score, DTE Maharashtra will consider CAT 2013; CMAT 2014; MAT Feb 2014; XAT 2014; ATMA; GMAT. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the highest percentile score obtained by the candidate in any of the above tests.

The examination like CMAT does not award percentile score; hence the scores obtained in CMAT will be converted to the percentile score up to 2 decimal points without rounding off.  If a candidate has appeared in more than one examination, the best percentile scored by him shall be taken into account for preparation of merit list.

Formation of merit in case of equal marks and percentile

Relative merit list is proposed to be prepared on the basis of following criteria for CAP round in MAHCET 2014

1. More weightage will be given for the higher percentage of marks scored in class 12 or its equivalent examination.

2. Preference will be given to the candidates who have scored more marks in class 10.

3. Preference on the basis of age will be given to a candidate who is elder.

Separate merit lists

Separate  merit  list  will  be  prepared  for  admission  against  the  Maharashtra  state  seats  (Home University,  State level  and  Persons  with  Disability);  All  India  Level  Seats  (State  level)  and  J&K  migrant (State level) candidates.

Allotment of seats

Seats  will  be  allotted  to  candidates  as  per  their  merit and as  per  the  options  filled  in  the online  option  form and  the number  of seats available at  that  point  of  time in  the  stages of CAP Round.

All candidates eligible for a particular stage of allotment will be considered for allotment for aseat in that stage even if they have been allotted / not allotted a seat in the previous stage.

Upward shift in Merit list

Number of candidates appear in various MBA entrance examinations. For example the candidates who have scored 99+ percentile in MAHCET 2014 and whose admission at any of IIMs, FMS Delhi, IIFT, MDI, IMT, IMI, XLRI has already got the final shape, they may not prefer the B school in Maharashtra and as such, more spaces may fall vacant. Therefore, during  the  allotment  at  any  stage,  the  candidate  may  get  upward  shift  in  the  allotment with  reference  to  the  options filled  in  the  online  option  form  according  to  availability of seats at that point of time.
