CAT 2014: Important concern of CAT Aspirants; Admit Card goes blank

To the astonishment of CAT 2014 aspirants, a number of them have found their Admit cards blank and without containing any details on the same. CAT Centre 2014 issued the admit Cards of 1.97 lakh CAT 2014 aspirants on October 19, 2014. CAT aspirants have been given the facility to view as well as download their CAT 2014 Admit Cards from CAT 2014 website after login as existing user with the CAT 2014 registered user id.

CAT aspirants go panicky

Most of the candidates could download their admit cards and checked the required details which were available on their Admit cards. However a few of the CAT 2014 aspirants have found that their admit cards are blank and are without any details available on them. This has created panic among these prospective CAT 2014 test takers.

The confusion is but natural also as the admit cards for CAT 2014 were issued less than a month before the actual CAT 2014 exam which is going to be held on November 16 and 22, 2014. Candidates not finding any solution to the problem rushed to CAT 2014 helpline and apprised with their grievances.

CAT Centre 2014 clarifies

CAT Centre 2014 has clarified on the issue of blank Admit cards If the candidate has registered multiple times, CAT Centre 2014 will consider only the most recent (last) registration as the official application for CAT 2014. Admit Card generated for you is for the most recent (last) registration. Thus, if you login using User ID of earlier registration attempts, your Admit Card will be blank. Additionally, it is advised that you view the Admit Card only using the recommended browsers and not from your mobile phone.

Now the candidates have to take precaution as follows-

-Do not login with your user id of earlier registration attempts. It will produce only blank admit card.

-Use only the most recent CAT 2014 registration user ID. This will enable you to view the Admit card with details since CAT Centre 2014 recognizes only the most recent (last) registration as the official application for CAT 2014. .

-You are supposed to use only the recommended browsers like Mozilla to view and download the CAT 2014 Admit Card and not the mobile phone. Details available in Admit Card: Check while viewing

It is further advisable to take at least 2-3 prints of the admit card after checking the details given in the document. Please also ensure to check that all the details are available in it. If you find any information missing, please immediately contact the CAT 2014 help desk.

Name: Your name as entered in the registration/application form of CAT 2014

Registration Number : The registration number is same as your registered user id for CAT 2014

Date of Birth : your date of birth as you entered in the application form

Birth Category : Whether General, SC/ST, OBC etc.

PWD/DA : In case the candidate is differently abled/physically challenged, it will have yes else No

Date / Day of test: Date of your CAT 2014 exam (November 16 or November 22, 2014)

Time / Session: Examination session (Before noon or after noon)

Test City: Address of CAT 2014 test centre

Test Center: The exam centre in the city where you will be required to appear in the test You will have to affix a recent coloured passport size photograph on the hard copy of the Admit Card in the given box. CAT aspirants can view, download and print the admit cards till their CAT 2014 exam without any hurdle.

Guidelines for the Candidates

Test takers will have to carry the printed copy of their Admit Card for verification at the time of the test. One photo of the candidate has to be pasted in the space provided on the CAT 2014 Admit Card. Signature on the admit card will have to be done before the invigilator in the testing room.

At least one original (not photocopied or scanned) and valid (not expired) photo identification card (such as College ID, Employer ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar, UID) should also be presented .

The candidates photograph and signature images should be legibly printed and visible on the photo ID card and should match the name on Admit Card. The Photo ID card should not be damaged or smudged.

The printed Admit card should be on an A4 size paper. It will be valid only if the candidates photograph and signature images are legibly printed.

Candidates should report at 7:30 AM for the forenoon session and at 1:00 PM for the afternoon session. No candidate will be allowed inside the test centre after 8:45 AM for the forenoon session and post 2:15 PM for the afternoon session.

Mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets such as watches, calculators and stationary items like pen, pencil, and paper are NOT ALLOWED inside the examination hall. Only Admit Card & Photo ID Card only will be allowed inside the test hall. Rough sheet(s) and pen will be provided to the candidate for rough work which will have to be returned after the test. Candidate should write his/her name and registration number on the rough sheet(s).

Candidates are advised to locate their test centre and its accessibility at least a day before the test so that they can reach the centre on time on the day of the test.

Discrepancy, if any, in Date of Birth and/or Gender can be edited on the CAT website from 25th Nov 2014, 10:00 AM to 28th Nov 2014, 05:00 PM.

CAT 2014: Admit card forgets to mention the affidavit

Apart from the various photo id cards, CAT has been accepting photo identification affidavit from the candidates in case they do not have College ID, Employer ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar, UID. This used to be mentioned as one of the acceptable documents in earlier CAT exams. This year it is available on site but not appears in the instruction list on the Admit Card as one of the acceptable photo id documents. However, the same is available on CAT site and would be accepted at the CAT 2014 exam centre.
