Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon culminates the year 2014 with its major events Imperium and Akshayam stimulating the academic and non-academic facets of students. Both the events were held from November 28 to 30, 2014 at the campus of MDI Gurgaon. These events were aimed at the holistic development of the students and enjoyed a footfall of around 3000 students from top 20 B-Schools of India including the most renowned ones like IIM A, B, C, L, XLRI
The events started with the inaugural function held on November 28 which was graced by Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, the Director General & CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. Motivating the minds of the students and invigorating them he said “Your power is your own vision. It’s your ability to do what you can which matters the most.”
The event was inaugurated by Professor C P Shrimali, Acting Director, MDI Gurgaon, Prof Shrimali highlighted MDI’s vision to create an action-centric campus for the students. Keynote Speaker Mr. Anurag Batra –the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of exchange4media group also contributed his vision to encourage students to scale great heights.
Imperium 2014 alongwith Akshayam aroused great enthusiasm and met with zealous participation from colleges across the nation. The event was supported by Magma Fincorp, NTPC, ONGC, LIC India, Canara Bank, Era Infra, Turtle, Petronet LLG, Doosan, Asus, Tech Mahindra, Siemens, CareerAnna, BrainBuxa, Aaros, Crompton Greeves among others. Media Partners included Suburb magazine, Business World, NDTV, Big FM.
Imperium, MDI’s annual inter B- school management and cultural fest is a confluence of the finest brains of the country. Organized independently by the students of the institute, the annual flagship festival blends academics, management, music and arts through case study competitions, simulation games, presentations, on the spot events, cultural activities and fun games. It tests the managerial skills, form networks of students and puts classroom knowledge to practice.
Imperium was lit up by a hilarious performance by Rivaldo by Nitin Gupta and an exuberant performance by the virtuosic Indian Rock n Roll band and the pioneers of Indian rock revolution – Parikrama. The event had a philanthropic edge with ‘GREEN-O-VISION’ which showcased the students business plans around a profitable green initiative and ‘BEYOND KARMA’ which focussed on “Fighting Thalassemia–For the Society we live in” to bring about a change in the lives of people suffering from this problem.
Akshayam lined up three days of cultural activities for students like solo songs in Hindi and English, duet songs, T-shirt paintings, Collage and Poster Making, Guitar wars, dance competitions on the first day. The second day of the event saw activities like street play, stage play, mime, rangoli making, dress making and an offline quiz. The highlight was the Mr. and Ms. Akshayam Fashion Pageant and show stopper fashion shows. The event wrapped up on the third day with games of antakshari, treasure hunt, tattoo making, face painting etc.

MDI Gurgaon opened its admission 2015 online application process for the flagship PGPM programmes on Sep 5, 2014. The process stands closed on Nov 14, 2014. The highly ranked B school will accept CAT 2014 scores in shortlisting the candidates for final admission round.
Students with high CAT 2014 percentile can explore admission opportunities in MDI Gurgaon. The short listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interviews during February and March 2015 at one of the centers, viz. Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai.
