AICTE-CMAT 2015 second test on second day Feb 20, 2015 although was not much different from the first day, it had more tricky questions in General Awareness and Language Comprehension sections. A few questions in English language comprehension grew a little more difficult than the first day while focus of General awareness on the second day of CMAT remained on current affairs. Questions in CMAT second day grew a little trickier and a few questions on Data Interpretation were also more time consuming.

Language comprehension

English language comprehension on the second day of CMAT brought a little different shape before the aspirants.  Although it had same number of  25 questions on core English grammar, use of synonyms and antonyms, fill in the blanks, short but tricky jumbled sentences, and a bit lengthier Reading comprehension passages made their presence on 2nd day of CMAT 2015.

RC Passages in earlier CMAT exams used to be of 300-400 words, in CMAT 2015 second test the length has been increased to 500 words approximately. The variety of question that have followed RC Passages has also been rated as a bit difficult by CMAT 2015 takers in comparison to earlier CMAT exams. The section suddenly shifted its stand from moderate to a bit difficult.  An attempt of 18-20 questions would be rated as very good. CMAT has not placed any surprise element on the second day of the test

Quant and DI

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation section had the questions on regular topics. Percentage, ratios, Geometry, Algebra figured in the test.  Aspirants usually practice on these topics well and devote more of their learning and practicing on variety of questions related to these topics. Although Quant was not tough but it became a little more time consuming for most of the aspirants. Expecting more questions on Permutation-combination, probability was throwing the candidates out of focus.  Data interpretation questions forming pie chart, graphs and tabular data were a little lengthy and required better reading of the problem and ability to compare the data well.

The aspirants with good understanding and systematic approach to solve geometrical problems and good at algebra having core knowledge of more intricate mathematical concepts could do very well in this section.

Overall the section was doable with a mix or moderate and difficult questions. The important tip for the remaining 2 days is to devote a little more time in practicing the forgotten topics.  Those who wish to crack Quant in forthcoming sessions, must practice more

Logical reasoning

The 25 questions in this section had more questions on arrangements, puzzles, statements assumptions, analogy, syllogisms, conclusions.  A few questions in the section were tricky enough and consumed more time than expected. Nevertheless, aspirants were able to crack 14-16 questions managing the time well in this section.

General Awareness
