CAT 2015 Notification on July 26; expect an early exam with big changes

You may expect an early CAT 2015 and instead of November it could be held sometime in October 2015. The notification containing all the details on Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 would be published on July 26, 2015 in all the leading newspapers.  Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad in partnership with the CAT testing agency TCS would be conducting CAT 2015 for admission session 2016-17.
  
Sharing with MBAUniverse.com, Prof Tathagata Bandyopadhyay, CAT 2015 convener and faculty at IIM Ahmedabad clarifies “At this point I can share just the notification date.  The official CAT 2015 notification will be released on 26th July, 2015.”

 

The notification will contain all the valuable information regarding the opening date of registration for CAT 2015, how to register and apply, cost of the voucher, Online and offline availability of CAT 2015 application form, examination dates, date of issue of admit card, result declaration date among other important items of information.

 

Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 will be a pre-requisite for admission to flagship post graduate management programme in 20 IIMs and other top rated B schools for the academic session beginning 2016. While admission in top rated IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta and Lucknow may need a very high sectional as well as overall percentile of 99+ in CAT 2015, other top B schools like FMS, MDI, JBIMS, SPJIMR, IMI, IMT will also need a high percentile of 97 to 99 in CAT 2015 to shortlist the candidates for final admission round.

 

Newer IIMs will also not lag behind, they will also need a high CAT 2015 percentile of not less than 95-98 although they always publish the minimum cut off CAT percentile between 90 to 95.  

 

CAT 2015: Opening of Registration

 

Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015  registration would open in the first week of August 2015 and will continue till late September 2015. CAT 2015 may not offer any facility of Off- line voucher purchase and all the registration activity may have to completed on-line only.

 

Choice of test centre & test slot

 

CAT 2015 Test centre may not be opted as per the candidate’s choice of centre and slot. It is expected that the test slot and centre would be allotted by the CAT 2015 examination centre as per the availability after the last date of registration.

 

Number of questions in CAT 2015 are expected to be 100 with 50 each in one section and time allotted is expected to remain 170 minutes.  The difficulty level of questions in CAT 2015 might go up. CAT 2015 aspirants would need good preparation strategy and planning for CAT 2015.
