The 46 day registration and application window for CAT 2015 will open on Aug 6, 2015 at 10 AM. CAT 2015 will be a single day 2 session exam comprising 3 sections and 100 questions with sectional time limit of 1 hour applied to each section. The registration fee for CAT 2015 is Rs.1600/- and the process will be online only which will close on September 20, 2015 at 11.59 PM.

After ensuring that you are eligible to apply and can appear in CAT 2015, the most important step is to go through the guidelines for CAT 2015 registration and prepare a check list before beginning the registration process. The Registration and application for CAT 2015 would be a time bound exercise as the default time fixed to by IIM Ahmedabad to keep the registration window open is only 30 minutes. In case of not completing the process in time, the candidate will be required to login again to complete the process.

Not filling up the required information or filling up any wrong information may render the candidate disqualified even if he or she secures a high percentile in CAT 2015.

On-line Registration only
CAT 2015 registration will be an absolutely on line process right from the purchase of voucher to completion of registration process. Unlike the earlier registrations till CAT 2013 where offline purchase of vouchers was permitted, CAT 2015 has gone completely green and no paper work is required.

No self Scheduling of CAT 2015
CAT 2015 aspirants have to register themselves only but will not find any option in registration window to choose the date, session and test centre as per their choice. They can select the 4 most preferred examination cities out of 136 test cities but cannot enter any other preference. The session and test centre will be allotted by the CAT Centre 2015 after the last day for registration is over and will be reflected in your Admit Card.

Operating email id
CAT 2015 aspirants need to have a valid and unique email address. All correspondence until CAT 2015 is over and during the selection stage will be communicated using this email address.

After successful completion of registration process, the candidate will be informed on this mail id. Email id of any other person, coaching institute is not acceptable.

Better to complete the process in time
Not more than 30 minutes should be taken to complete the process of registration as the registration window will close by default on completion of 30 minutes. In case the process is not completed within the given time frame and data is not saved, you will have to go through the process again.

All applicants are new users
CAT 2015 registration link will open on August 6, 2014 at 10 AM. Since all the CAT 2015 aspirants will open the link for the first time for registration, they should click on “Register” instead of going to ‘existing user’. Please note that the candidates who registered and appeared  for CAT 2013 or 2014 will also be the new users hence they should also click on ‘Register’.

How to pay the Registration fee
The CAT 2015 registration fee is Rs.1600/- and has to be paid online only. The CAT exam fee is payable at the time of online registration via a valid credit, debit card or online net banking facility.

How to make changes in case of mistakes in registration
In case CAT 2015 aspirants commit mistakes in the process of registration, they should select “Existing User Login” on CAT 2015 website.  You can make changes to your personal details, such as address, educational information or exam city preferences but cannot edit your full name, date of birth, email id, mobile number, State and Country as it will not be allowed for security reasons. However, if you have genuinely made a mistake in entering your date of birth, State, you will have to show evidence of the correct data at the time of examination/ interview/ admission else your candidature will be nullified.

Please note that the ability to edit application profile will be available only until you have not submitted the Application Form. Once you have submitted and made the exam fee payment, you will not be allowed to make any more changes. You may only view and print thereafter.

Re-register, if mistakes affect selection process
If you have made a mistake in filling out details for those fields which will affect selection process, such as Percentage of Marks, Category, Gender, Work Experience, it will be better to re-register with a new email ID and repayment of registration fee. Your CAT 2015 application will be considered for the latest registration and Admit Card issued for the same.

Please also note that you will not receive a refund or Admit Card for your earlier registration. Failure to re-register in such circumstances may lead to nullification of your candidature.

In case of pursuing integrated course
If you have done 5 years integrated course of B.Tech and MBA and as per your university norms first 3.5 years is considered to be B.tech and remaining 1.5 years is considered to be MBA, the process to enter your marks is that you will enter the aggregate percentage of first 3.5 years under Bachelor’s Degree and remaining 1.5 years under Master’s degree, if you wish to mention the marks obtained in Master’s degree.

In case of dual degree course
If you have completed 5 year dual degree course like Btech+Mtech; BS+MS; Btech+MSC, you have to enter the aggregate of marks which are equivalent to bachelor degree and if any marks are there for master’s degree you are supposed to enter the same in master’s degree.

Already available Certificate permitted
In case you have SC/ST certificate in the format uploaded on the CAT 2015 website and if it fulfils the below given conditions, you do not need to download certificate template from CAT website and fill again

  1. The certificate should have been issued by competent authority.
  2. The name of the caste and caste number should appear in the certificate
  3. The Ministry's resolution/order number should be available
  4. The certificate should be in Hindi or English only

If you have changed name
If you have changed your name with due procedure after completing your degree,  you have to enter your changed name but you will have to produce supporting documents for change of name at the time of examination, interview and admission.

Post registration screen
Post successful registration, you will use the system generated User ID and Password to log into the website. Upon logging in, you will first see the Registration Summary page. Then you will be required to click on ‘Go to Application Form’. This will direct you to the application form page.

In case of non receipt of password
In the event of not receiving or having lost the system generated password SMS, you should simply click on Forgot Password on the Existing User login page. You will be prompted to enter a Captcha string and post which, new password will be sent to you on your registered email address. Please note, regenerated passwords will not be sent as an SMS.

Application summary only after successful submission
There are 2 tabs that you will see Application Summary and Download Application Form, only if your application has been submitted with successful online payment of examination fees. Else, upon login, you will continue to see the five tabs of the Application Form.

If you click on submit button you will not be able to rectify any errors made during registration process. So please do not click on submit button till you are satisfied that you have entered the correct data.
