CAP 2016: 2 components
CAP IIM 2016 coordinated by IIM Kashipur for new IIMs will have 2 components- Written Ability Test (WAT) and (PI) Personal Interview. In cases where candidates have been shortlisted by the six new IIMs as well as older IIMs, IIM Kashipur would obtain the PI & WAT scores of such candidates directly from the older IIMs. Such candidates will be informed in advance by IIM-Kashipur, and they need not appear for the PI & WAT conducted by the new IIMs.

CAP IIM 2016: 4 step process
Step-1
Individual IIMs will prepare a shortlist based on their shortlisting criteria. These shortlists will be combined for further processing by IIM Kashipur, the CAP coordinating IIM. Admission policy guidelines of new IIMs indicate that a minimum percentile of 85 to 90 will be required to be scored by a General candidate to get short listed for WAT & PI round 2016 leading to admission in new IIMs. However actual cut off percentile could be higher also after declaration of CAT 2015 result

IIM Kashipur the CAP IIM 2016 coordinating IIM, will call candidates 10-12 times of the proposed intake, only the candidates meeting the cut-off criteria listed in CAT 2015 component scores in respective categories will be considered for shortlisting. More important is the fact that only candidates meeting the cut-off criteria listed in qualification cut off, for X, XII and Under-Graduate (UG) reported marks in respective categories will be considered for the shortlisting in final admission round.

Although sufficient number of candidates would be called for CAP IIM 2016 process on the basis of short listed merit list prepared for each category, if the actual number of short-listed candidates arefound to be less/more than the required number of candidates to be called for WA/PI category-wise, the overall as well as section-wise minimum score would be reduced/increased to get the desired number of candidates.

Step-2
A few older IIMs may also participate in CAP IIM 2016. Hence from the combined list, names of candidates called for interviews by IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikode will be set aside. The remaining candidates will be called for Common Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test (PI & WAT).

The PI & WAT scores for candidates set aside from the common shortlist will be obtained from the respective older IIMs from which they got the interview calls. Those who have been called by more than one older IIM will have their PI & WAT scores averaged across the IIMs where they have appeared for interviewing.

Step-3
The eligible candidates will be ranked on the basis of their actual Grand Total Score and top specified number will be called for the PA process above a required percentile. Any request for change of centre for PI & WAT should reach the admission cell of IIM Kashipur well in time which will be specified by IIM Kashipur. The accommodation of such requests will be at the sole discretion of IIM Kashipur.

Step-4
Each IIM will take the PI & WAT score of the candidates shortlisted by them and combine it with CAT 2015 score, Profile score and any other score to make their own individual merit list to make final offers to the candidates.
Venues for PI & WAT

The Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test is proposed to be conducted at New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. The exact date for PI & WAT will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates by IIM Kashipur.

The Final Selection List (FSL)
Please note that only the PI and WAT are conducted commonly by the new IIMs. The final merit list of candidates will be arrived at by each IIM according to its own selection criteria. These criteria will be available on the websites of the respective institutes.

Final Selection List (FSL) will be declared based on CAT 2015 score, PA score and profile score including Work Experience (WE) score as assessed during the PA process, score for Past Academic Performance (PAP), academic and gender diversity score, and any other criterion included.

Common Admission test (CAT) 2015 is the mandatory exam for admission to flagship PGP 2016-18 batch at 19 IIMs. The registration and application process for CAT 2015 is going to close on September 20, 2015. The registration fee for CAT 2015 is Rs.1600/-.
