CAT 2015: Registration extension to catch up the application decline; will it yield result?

The smart move by IIM Ahmedabad to extend CAT 2015 registration by 5 days from Sep 20 to Sep 25, 2015 has proved to be a good strategy to catch up with the declining trend in number of registrations this year.
Number of CAT 2015 applicants that stood at little over to 92000 on Sep 13, 2015 suddenly got shot in the arm and crossed 1.6 lakhs on Sep 19, 2015 as shared by convener CAT 2015. Hardly 40000 more were needed to register since Sep 20 and upto 25, not only to catch up with the CAT 2014 registration number but also to cross the bar.

It is amazing to note that despite such an earlier decline in number of candidates coming forward to register for CAT 2015 with total registration below 1 lakh in 40 days leading to the apprehension that CAT 2015 registration number might go for a dip in comparison to CAT 2014, just before the end of 45th day of registration, CAT 2015 applicants rose to 1.60 lakhs, making a smart recovery Few hours are still left to the CAT 2015 registration as the process would come to close at 11.59 PM today, it appears that CAT 2015 may surpass the registration data of CAT 2014 and may cross the bar of 2 lakh candidates by the closing hour.

CAT 2015 convener has however consistently been advising the CAT 2015 aspirants not to wait for last minute of registration and says To avoid rush, complete your registration at-least a few days before the last day of registration. I trust that there will be no problem for candidates applying during the last few days.

In fact due to great rush of aspirants during the last few days, despite all the arrangement made not to let the CAT 2015 site go slow or face any technical glitches, it becomes unavoidable as some or other technical problem in the process of on-line registration process flares-up.

If all goes well till the last minute of registration, and no technical problems or hiccups in making online payment occur, aspirants may be sure of no further extension in registration date for CAT 2015. But if the internet banking site stalls the transmission of payment in time due to which your payment gets stuck in transit or some other technical glitches come up CAT Centre 2015 might consider extension/re-opening of CAT 2015 registration depending upon the complaints grievances received by them. It happened in CAT 2014 and it may not be ruled out in CAT 2015 also.

Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 will be held on November 29, 2015. It is the only exam that can make you eligible to get into one of 20 IIMs in the academic session 2016-17
