IMT Ghaziabad summer placement 2015; 241 placed in single day; records 12% hike in stipend

Owing to deep rooted relationships that the placement department of IMT enjoys with the corporate world, no wonder 241 students were placed in a single day during the last lap of summer placement for 2015-17 batch at IMT Ghaziabad. It is like placing the entire batch of some colleges in India in a single day.

180 recruiters
Roles were offered in different domains and for variety of functions by 180+ companies who visited the campus. This has made placements an extremely satisfying exercise for the students.
Companies have increased their intake specially consulting firms like Deloitte, KPMG, PWC etc. E commerce and app based companies have been flocking the campus and majors like Shopclues, Pharmeasy, Uber among others picked up considerable number of students for both 2 months and 5 month internships. FMCG and FMCD companies like Whirlpool, Perfetti, Britannia, Lava Mobiles, Videocon, DCM Sriram and many others maintained their stable relationships that IMT has enjoyed for three decades now and hired students for diverse roles in sales, marketing, brand management, marketing research and analytics etc.

5 month internship
IMT is one of the only few colleges who offer a very unique 5 month internship which not only gives the companies a larger window to assess the leadership, analytical, decision making, team building skills of students, but also gives students an opportunity to experience the work culture, challenges, strategy and decision making process as well as the vision of the company.
It is a win-win situation for both the company as well as the student to convert the internship into PPOs. IMT campus is well known for lapping up the maximum number of PPOs resulting out of their extremely successful and well crafted internships.

E-commerce & Analytics; positive trend
The positive trend started by E commerce and analytics companies got even more stronger this year. In addition to these, the regular recruiters from FMCG/ FMCD, Consulting, IT, Telecom and BFSI sectors descended down to the campus for shaping up delivering another power packed placement.

Brand names like Abbott, Adidas, Godfrey Philips, Bennett Coleman , Deloitte, KPMG, PWC, HSBC, JP Morgan, Mahindra, Microsoft, Shop clues, Pharmacy, Uber, Genpact were among the 60 plus companies who visited the campus during the placement week.

According to Vishal Goyal, Group Head- Corporate relations, IMT Ghaziabad and Dubai, At IMT, stress is laid on the kind of role, learning aspect, and opportunity being provided than merely the stipend on offer. Despite this important fact, more than 40 offers crossed the one lakh barrier mark with the maximum stipend touching 2.50 lakhs and average stipend increasing by 12% during the internship period. Given that IMT has a large batch, this sure has brought a smile on the face of a lot more students than anywhere else. No wonder why they are gearing up for the much awaited final placements with more zeal and energy. The team is confident that they would continue the trend of smashing the record of placing highest number of students on day zero this year as well.
