IIM Lucknow new director Dr Ajit Prasad set to join by November end

The uncertainty over the appointment of permanent full time director at IIM Lucknow has come to rest. Dr Ajit Prasad, currently a faculty at SPJIMR Mumbai, has been appointed as its full time director. The IIM L Board of Governors (BoG) headed by the chairman Dr Jamshed J Irani has appointed Dr Ajit Prasad as its director after getting nod from MHRD. Dr Prasad is likely to join IIM Lucknow by the end of November 2015.

IIM Lucknow has been running without permanent director for more than one year after Dr Devi Singh, who served IIM Lucknow for 10 years as its director, ended his term in 2014.
Dr. Ajit Prasad is Professor of Strategy at S P Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. An alumnus of St. Stephens College, the Delhi School of Economics and International Management Institute, he has had rich experience in the Government, Industry and Academia. His past academic experience relates to teaching at Delhi University and Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. He has been a visiting faculty at the IIMs, S P Jain, IIFT, MICA and other leading business schools. He has also taught at leading B-schools and universities in UK, France, Netherlands, Dubai and Singapore.

Dr Prasads publications and research interests are in the areas of Corporate Planning, Strategic Thinking, and Governance inclusive of issues on Ethics. He is the author of three books, including the best selling Dictionary of Strategic Management (Excel:2003), and innumerable research papers in national and international journals.

Dr Prasad has been a consultant to several private, public and government organizations including the Bureau of Industrial Costs and Prices, GOI; the Public Enterprises Selection Board; KRIBHCO; Hindustan Zinc Limited; Larsen & Toubro; Indian Oil Corporation, etc. He is on the Academic Governing board ofMilano Politechnique, Milan, Italy. In 2010, he was appointed as Independent Director on the board ofPower Finance Corporation.
