CAT 2015: Result out in 3 days; official site applications remain suspended for 18 hours

CAT 2015 result is expected to be declared in next 3 days before the second week of January 2016. Sharing with MBAUniverse.com Cat 2015 convener Prof Tathagata Bandyopadhyay, faculty IIM Ahmedabad says CAT 2015 result should be sometime before second week of January 2016. The second week would begin after January 7 and therefore the result can be out any day before January 7, 2016.

Further strengthening and putting a stop to speculations, CAT 2015 website remained closed for upgradation for 18 hours from 6PM on January 3 to 12 Noon on January 4, 2016. While trying to open the website during this period, candidates were getting the message Due to planned upgrade activity, applications will not be available from: 06:00 PM on 3rd-January-2016 upto 12:00 PM on 4th-January-2016. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. The site became accessible only after 12 noon on January 4, 2016.

Although IIM Ahmedabad has announced that the CAT 2015 result would be declared in the second week of January 2016, it is very much possible that the result could be declared in next 3 days and even before the due date.

No technical issues It appears that the technical glitches that held back the CAT result last year and delayed it by a week or so, have been overcome while processing the CAT 2015 result and there are no technical issues this year due to which the result for CAT 2015 is proposed to be declared earlier than the announced date.

Result processing: 100% accuracy required CAT 2015 result processing requires 100% accuracy and should offer glitch free access to the result. The site was closed for 18 hours for the obvious reason to upgrade it to provide glitch free simultaneous access to 1.79 lakhs CAT 2015 takers on the result day.

The test was convened by IIM Ahmedabad on November 29, 2015 across the country in 136 test cities and 650 testing venues. Around 5500 candidates are expected to be offered admission in IIMs only. Besides, around 50000 candidates are proposed to be offered admission in MBA/PGDM 2016-18 batch in other top B-schools like FMS, BIMTECH, FORE, IMI, IMT, MDI, NITIE, SPJIMR, TAPMI among others on the basis of their CAT 2015 scores.
