MDI Gurgaon organizes Bootcamp; provides a platform to budding entrepreneurs

Management Development Institute (MDI), one of Indias finest B-schools, co-organised a unique bootcamp, with SACC (Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce) that provided a bouncing ground for several path-breaking business ideas. The activity was a business idea formation exercise where the participating students from MDI formed 6 teams comprising five-members in each team. These teams were given a theme on which they had to build a scalable idea on the spot.
Highlighting the value of Bootcamp, Prof. Nakul Gupta, Coordinator for Entrepreneurship and Incubation Centre, MDI Gurgaon said, Its enlightening to witness so many big ideas on a singular platform. The Bootcamp is an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to show their decision-making abilities, troubleshooting skills and an understanding of the social, political and economic milieu. Were sure its been a great exposure for our students.

The Chief guest at the event, Sh. T.L. Satyaprakash, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Gurgaon, opined: In 1960s almost everyone was looking for a government jobs however the scenario has changed and people are now open to the idea of joining Startups. It is good to see that students are now going out of their comfort zone and aspiring to be entrepreneurs. We will provide all the support required to the students, if you come one step we will take 10 steps to achieve the goal. It is a difficult task but not impossible!

Post the brain storming session students pitched their business propositions to the jury. The jury quizzed the team for 3-4 minutes where the audience too had a chance to engage with the participants.
The jury comprised members from SACC along with Prof. Nakul Gupta from MDI Gurgaon. The ideas were evaluated on 5 key parameters the idea, the problem it seeks to solve, the solution it offers, the team needed to execute and the funds required for the project. The finalists from this activity will now be given a chance to pitch and scale their idea at the upcoming Startup Weekend.
