IIM Bangalore: launches distance online courses; series of 6 programmes on Fundamentals of Business Management

IIM Bangalore has announced to launch a new digital learning initiative - Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) based online certificate series - titled Fundamentals of Business Management. This online programme aims to equip learners with basic business and management skills needed to compete in todays business landscape.

6 course series
The course series will include the following 6 business and management MOOCs namely Introduction to People Management; Introduction to Operations Management; Introduction to Accounting 1; Introduction to Corporate Finance; Introduction to Business Strategy; Introduction to Marketing Essentials
IIM Bangalore is among the first few management schools in the world to offer such a MOOC-based series of six core management courses. IIMB Director Dr. Sushil Vachani said, IIM Bangalore is leveraging the massive scale and reach of MOOCs to provide basic business skills to everyone who needs them. To make our countrys grand vision of Make in India and Digital India a reality, education is key. Our MOOCs programme, especially the Fundamentals of Business Management, will bring high quality management education and a lifelong learning opportunity for many who would otherwise have been unable to access a top management school.

Delivery through edX
The MOOCs will be delivered through the edX platform over the next few months and will offer learners the opportunity to study management concepts from highly rated IIM faculty in a completely open, online mode.

Course available in Hindi too
To increase the reach of these courses IIM Bangalore will also make these courses available in Hindi. Courses open for enrolment
All six MOOCs are open for enrollment and will be offered in a sequential manner over the next several months.
