MDI Murshidabad: MBA option at good B-school with average CAT scores; open till April 10

Dream of doing MBA from a good B-school like MDI may come true even with your average percentile scored in CAT 2015 as the Murshidabad campus of Management Development Institute (MDI) has extended its admission application date for PGDM 2016-18 batch till April, 10, 2016. MDI Murshidabad will accept only CAT 2015 scores in its PGDM 2016 admission process. It is a good opportunity for those candidates who have scored around 60-70 percentile in CAT 2015 to explore admission opportunity in another campus of well renowned B-school, Management Development Institute.

While the legacy, infrastructure, learning and placement at MDI Gurgaon is well renowned, it was difficult to contemplate that the 2 year old MDI Murshidabad would also achieve new milestones for its first batch.

First batch on way to high placements
MDI launched its Murshidabad campus in 2014 with its maiden PGDM batch 2014-16. Despite being its first batch at Murshidabad, MDI students have been able to achieve high placement packages. So far, the first batch students at MDI Murshidabad have achieved an average salary of Rs.8.5 lakhs in the placement 2016. This average is proposed to go further as the placement at MDI Murshidabad is going on.

This is in contrast to the B schools including newest IIMs who are struggling for their survival despite all the support from MHRD, Govt of India. MDI has not only successfully launched its new campus but has also been able to establish new milestones in placements for the very first batch of students.

How to apply
Applicants have to apply online.Online registration will be open till10th April 2016, 17.00 hrs. Candidates have to make online payment of Rs 1800 using Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking.

Selection Process
Candidates who are able to furnish valid score of CAT would be short listed on the basis of the details in the application form and the CAT 2015 scores. Only the short listed candidates will then be called for Group Discussion followed by Personal Interviews in April 2016 at one of the centres, viz. Kolkata, Gurgaon and Mumbai/Pune/Hyderabad (centres other than Kolkata and Gurgaon are tentative). Successful candidates will be intimated of their final selection by 30th April 2016

Who can apply

The candidates who have taken CAT 2015 and are able to furnish valid score of CAT can apply.
The candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII.
The candidate must have minimum 3 years Bachelors Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelors degree (or equivalent examination) and completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelors degree by 30th June, 2016 can also apply, subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by 1st October, 2016; otherwise they may be asked to withdraw from the programme.

Fee structure
Total fee for 2 years full time PGDM 2016-18, excluding lodging and boarding expenses at MDI Murshidabad is Rs.7.75 lakhs.
The Boarding and Lodging charges at MDI Murshidabad are Rs. 98000/- per annum and are to be paid additionally.

MDI Murshidabad is located 250 kms from Kolkata. Its a 10 acre campus. The institute started functioning in the session 2014. IFCI is the promoting institution of MDI which is commited towards making quality management education accessible to one and all. MDI Murshidabad campus is part of MDIs vision to nurture & promote local talent and enterprise. The campus has been developed by IFCIs sister entity, IFCI Infrastructure Development Limited.
MDI Murshidabad offers AICTE approved PGDM programme. In its first year of operation it acceptedCAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores for admission batch 2014-16. However, from the second year of operation, the B-school restricted the entry to the candidates who have taken only CAT examination.
