MAHCET CAP 2016: 5 do's to get Admission in top MMS /MBA 2016-18; apply by June 3

DTE Maharashtra will display the provisional merit lists for Maharashtra state as well as outside Maharashtra state candidates after June 3, 2016

Final admission round for MBA/MMS/PGDM 2016-18 in JBIMS, SIMSREE, K J Somaiya, PUMBA, SIES, DSIMS, N L Dalmiya and other 400 B-schools in Maharashtra has started in the form of Centralized Admission Process(CAP) from May 25, 2016 at more than 220 Facilitation Centres (FCs) in Maharashtra. The last date of online registration for CAP 2016 has been fixed by DTE Maharashtra as June 3, 2016.

Last year JBIMS did not participate in CAP round and conducted its own admission process. But for 2016-18 batch, JBIMS has already announced that it would offer admission only through CAP round.

Other exam takers can also apply
Those who did not register or appear in MAHCET 2016 but appeared in MAT Feb 2016; CMAT 2016; CAT 2015; XAT 2016; ATMA or GMAT can apply online as new candidate to participate in CAP 2016 and seek admission in less expensive MBA/MMS programme offered by Maharashtra B-schools. The application process is proposed to close on June 3, 2016.

MAHCET CAP 2016: Eligibility
Admissions to MBA/MMS through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2016 conducted by DTE Maharashtra are open for Maharashtra domicile as well as for outside Maharashtra candidates.

The candidates securing Non Zero Positive marks/score in MAH-MBA/ MMS-CET 2016 or GMAT/CAT/ MAT Feb 2016/ATMA/XAT/CMAT 2016 will be eligible to get admission 
to MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM course in the State of Maharashtra The candidates must duly register themselves for MAHCET CAP 2016 by paying a requisite fee to DTE Maharashtra online if not already registered to be eligible to participate in CAP 2016.

If you had registered earlier and paid the fee, but did not appear in MAHCET 2016, you can login as already registered candidate. If you are registering new, please go through the new registration login.

Registration fee
The registration fee for open Maharashtra State category or Outside Maharashtra State category candidates is Rs 1000/- and for reserved Maharashtra State category is Rs.800/-

CAP 2016 dates
Candidates will be called for document verification, updation and confirmation of application form for admission in person at FC for Maharashtra as well as Outside Maharashtra State candidature with effect from May 25, to June 3, 2016.

Please check that all the documents have been kept ready by you as per the DTE Maharashtra requirement.

Merit lists
DTE Maharashtra will display the provisional merit lists for Maharashtra state as well as outside Maharashtra state candidates after June 3, 2016. A few days time will be given to the candidates for Submission of grievance, if any, for Maharashtra, All India and J&K candidates, at FC where they got their documents verified. The final merit list will be available only after that.

Seat Availability
Admission to the B school through CAP 2016 and allotment of seat shall be strictly on the basis of the merit number in the respective merit list for Maharashtra State/All India candidates as per the options given by the candidate and the number of seats available for that candidate during the process of allotment.

Your Merit number
Each Maharashtra State candidate who has appeared and qualified the MAH‐MBA/MMS ‐CET 2016 will be assigned a State level Merit Number on the basis of percentile obtained in the test. MAH‐MBA/MMS CET 2016.

For All India seats the relevant state level merit number will be assigned to the candidates on the basis of performance in CAT 2015/CMAT 2016/GMAT/MAT 2016/XAT 2016/ATMA apart from MAH-MBA/MMS‐CET 2016. If the candidate has appeared for multiple examinations, the best percentile shall be considered to assign the merit number.

Check list
- Thoroughly check that all the documents including the hard copy of your score card have been kept ready

- Ensure before registering for CAP and applying for a particular University’s programme that you fulfil the eligibility criteria of the said University

- Please note that the score of MAH‐MBA/ MMS‐CET 2016 will be valid only for the academic year 2016‐17, so gear up as only a week is left to finalize your registration for CAP 2016.

- Please confirm the admission by reporting at the Respective Institute mentioned in allotment list with the identity proof, original certificates needed for admission

Please remember that DTE Maharashtra has specified that they will not separately or individually communicate with the candidates. It is the duty of the candidates to check their names in merit, find the allotment and timely report for the admission.
