Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore will host the 9th edition of National Annual Entrepreneurship Summit, Eximius 2016, on August 6 and 7 at its campus. The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell will organize Eximius 2016 in close association with the internationally acclaimed N S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) at IIMB.
Celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship, the summit themed, ‘The Time Is Now’, aims to encourage startups and students from across the country to think big and take the plunge. The two-day engagement will feature over 150 startups and is expected to get a footfall of 5,500+ individuals from across the country, participating in over 30 events.
Eximius 2016 will host eminent speakers including P. Chidambaram (former Finance Minister of India); Duvvuri Subbarao (former RBI Governor); Dr. Jacob Crasta (Prime Minister's SME Council); Dr. P Namperumalsamy (Padma Shree Awardee, Chairman, Aravind Eye Care); Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik (bestselling author); Shradha Sharma (Co-founder YourStory); Sujayath Ali (Co-founder CEO Voonik); Kunal Kapoor (actor and Co-founder Ketto.Org); Mukesh Singh (Co-founder, CEO Zopnow); Piyush Mishra (actor) and Anshu Gupta (Founder Goonj).
The summit will host events that will give hands-on exposure to participants on various aspects of starting and running a business. Some flagship events that will stimulate minds of budding entrepreneurs this year include Bzzwings, Fast Forward, The Other Incentive, The Game of Clicks, The Wipro Earthian Sustainability Challenge and Bootcamp Kiosk.
Bzzwings
Bzzwings is the most awaited business plan contest of the year. This contest gives wings to one’s dreams and encourage individuals to conceptualize, ideate and take the plunge. Winning teams will get incubation at the NSRCEL at IIMB. There are prizes worth INR 40 lakh.
Fast Forward
Fast Forward gives the perfect opportunity to business ideas built around information technology that can impact millions and start a revolution. It offers exclusive mentorship to selected teams. The winners of Fast Forward get to win prizes worth INR 2.5 lakh.
The Other Incentive
The event is aimed at promoting and supporting social entrepreneurship. This is for ideas where revenues and bottom-line profits are hygiene factors and social impact is the key measure of success. The event is in association with Villgro, India’s leading social incubator. Social entrepreneurs have an opportunity to win an incubation opportunity of up to INR 65 lakh from Villgro and prizes worth INR 80,000.
The Game of Clicks
The event bridges the gap between students and startups. The Game of Clicks is a marketing challenge, where teams compete in real time in the world for digital marketing. It gives opportunity to students to collaborate with startups to develop their marketing strategies. Each student team works closely with a startup to develop and implement their digital marketing strategy over a period of 3 weeks. The winning teams get a chance to win prizes worth INR 50,000.
Wipro Earthian Sustainability Quiz
Governments, organizations and leaders across the world are thinking about Sustainability. Eximius 2016 will present the Earthian Sustainability Quiz, in association with Wipro, based on sustainability and the environment. Total prizes worth INR 1.1 lakh are to be won.
Bootcamp Kiosk
In addition to the contests, Eximius 2016 invites early stage startups to showcase their unique business models and company goals at the Startup Bootcamp. This event will be conducted on 6-7 August, 2016 at IIMB campus. As a platform, the boot-camp will provide a unique opportunity and a conducive atmosphere for startup founders to demonstrate their vision to a captive student community of future business leaders and entrepreneurs. Additionally, startup founders will get a chance to imbibe key lessons from industry veterans and investors.
Workshops
This year the Bootcamp workshops will be conducted by IBM, Greg Maron (Co-founder Zoomcar) and HeadStart Network, India’s leading community for Startups. The workshops will cover diverse themes like innovative business models, leveraging startup ecosystems, startup marketing, scaling and building an empowered venture.
There will also be an array of events that will challenge participants to solve a range of problems faced by startups and entrepreneurs in domains like marketing, operations, finance, sustainability and fund-raising. Eximius 2016 will also have many online and on-the spot events like quizzes and simulation games.
