SNAP 2016: Registration process opens today; Paper based Exam on Dec 18 with no changes

SNAP 2016, Announcing the beginning of registration process from today August 22 and other key dates of SNAP 2016, the Symbiosis International University (SIU) Pune has shared in the evening today that SNAP 2016 for admission to MBA programmes 2017-19 at 15 Symbiosis institutes will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 across the country. There will be 32 test cities where SNAP 2016 is proposed to be conducted. The last date to register for SNAP 2016 is November 22, and the last date to make payment of registration fee is November 25, 2016.

Apart from the key dates the SNAP 2016 notification also signifies that the exam will remain a paper-pen based test without any changes in exam pattern and components. The sectional weightage in award of scores will also remain the same as earlier.

Eligibility for SNAP 2016
A graduate from any recognized/statutory University or Institute with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) can register and apply to appear in SNAP 2016. However, the programmes which require specific discipline/subject specialisation need to be checked for eligibility as given by the respective Institute.

Symbiosis International University (SIU) Pune has also clarified that a candidate who has completed qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to be eligible for admission to any of the 15 B-schools affiliated to SIU Pune.

SNAP 2016: Registration process
The registration process for SNAP 2016 is online. In case any Changes in the online application form are required to be made, it can be done only up to the closing date of Registration November 22, 2016. After that no change will be permitted by SIU.

Keep ready the Photograph & Signature
Please keep your scanned high profile photograph and signature ready in your computer system. You will be required to upload your latest scanned coloured photograph to establish identity.

Registration fee & modes of payment
A fee of Rs 1500/- to appear in SNAP 2016 is required to be paid while finalizing your registration for the test.
There are 3 modes of fee Payment for the SNAP 2016 Test

Online Payment of fee
The candidate may pay directly through Master or Visa card online by following the instructions on the SNAP website after the registration. The candidate may also transfer SNAP test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using Net Banking option after the registration.

Payment in Cash
Please print Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan from the SNAP website. It is in 3 parts. Pay Rs. 1500/- in cash at any Axis Bank or Indian Bank branch in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the website. The bank will return two stamped parts of the Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan to the candidate. Candidates need to keep the Candidate copy as payment receipt.

Sign the stamped Symbiosis copy of the Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan and send it to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat at the address given on the page.

Payment by Demand Draft
Obtain a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 1500/- from any Nationalized Bank in favour of Symbiosis Test Secretariat payable at Pune. Fill DD details in the DD payment option in SNAP website and take a print out of Payment Advice form for DD and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat. The photocopy of the Demand Draft should be retained for future reference.

The last date of payment for SNAP test is November 25, 2016.

MBA programmes offered by the B-schools accepting SNAP 2016 scores
Following Symbiosis B-schools will accept SNAP 2016 scores for MBA admission to 2017-19 batch- Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM - Pune); Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies & Research (SICSR); Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resources Development (SCMHRD); Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB); Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management (SITM); Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS); Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Pune(SIMC, Pune); Symbiosis Institute of Operation Management(SIOM, Nashik); Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology(SCIT); Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences(SIHS); Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bengaluru (SIBM, Bengaluru); Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Bengaluru (SIMC, Bengaluru); Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance (SSBF); Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad (SIBM, Hyderabad), Symbiosis School of Sports Sciences (SSSS).

SNAP 2016: Exam pattern
The paper pen mode with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), SNAP 2016 will be of 2 hours duration from 2 PM to 4 PM to be held in a single day on December 18, 2016. Last date to apply to appear in SNAP 2016 is November 22, 2016. Candidates are allowed mark their answers with blue or black ball pen on OMR sheet.

Candidates have the facility to attempt any section in any order within overall allotted time of 2 hours.

Negative marking
SNAP 2016 will contain objective type questions. Each question has 4 responses. Candidate should choose an appropriate response. Each wrong answer attractsone fourth negative marks.

Since inception SNAP has been conducted in Paper-pen based format and is proposed to continue with the legacy till the ease of taking test is proved for computer based format. In a highly advanced technological environment when exams are gradually switching over to computer based pattern, Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) 2016 and the future ones also are proposed to remain paper pen based. The thought behind keeping SNAP a conventional paper based exam is to benefit the test takers so that they make fewer mistakes as compared to Computer based exam.
