IMI New Delhi: DG Dr Bakul Dholakia steps down; Dr P K Bhaumik appointed as Acting Director

New Delhi based International Management Institute (IMI), one of Indias leading B-schools, has appointed Dr Pradeep K Bhaumik as the Acting Director after Dr Bakul Dholakia stepped down as the Director General on September 14, 2016. Dr Dholakia, former Director of IIM Ahmedabad, had joined IMI as the DG on October 1, 2014.

IMI New Delhi was ranked #1 amongst all PGDM B-schools in India and #7 amongst all B-schools as per the NIRF Ranking 2016, conducted by MHRD, Government of India. In 2016, IMI also saw an upswing in placements with average salary for the PGDM 2014-16 batch rising to Rs. 14.3 lakhs, from Rs. 9.31 lakhs in 2015.

Dr Pradeep K Bhaumik is a renowned academician and professor onOperations and Quantitative Methods atIMI Delhi. Spelling out his vision for IMI, Dr Bhaumik said, In the next few years we are planning to move at great speed on two or three major fronts. First, we are very fortunate to have some of the finest intellectuals in the domain of management education. The challenge is not only to harness this capability, but to also add to it by getting on board some more luminaries to sustain IMIs intellectual edge. Second, we have identified executive education as a key focus area... Third, in our quest to deliver high quality intellectual inputs, augmentation of our research infrastructure is one of our priorities.

Established in the year 1981, IMI New Delhi was Indias first corporate sponsored business school. MrSanjiv Goenka, Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, is the Chairman of the IMI Governing Committee. IMI New Delhi is one of the seven B-schools in India to have received an accreditation from the international accreditation agency,Association of MBAs(AMBA).
