CAT 2016: Error correction in application form activated; 3 types of changes allowed

The error correction process after submission of CAT 2016 application form has been enabled today on October 1 as earlier promised by Convener CAT 2016 Prof Rajendra Bandi, faculty at IIM Bangalore. In case of any mistake made while filling in the CAT 2016 registration form, candidates have 5 days to rectify these errors. The activation of the error correction module by IIM Bangalore is with a rider that only limited 3 type of mistakes can be corrected.

CAT 2016 exam centre has activated today the error correction module to change certain details in the submitted application form for CAT 2016. For the first time, CAT 2016 has enabled an option to correct mistakes, discovered after submission of the CAT application.The error correction option is available on the CAT Application form Webpage from October 1 to 5, 2016 and will close after that.

According to Prof Rajendra K Bandi, CAT 2016 convener and faculty at IIM Bangalore, Candidates will have an option to correct details like Percentage of Marks scored, Work Experience, and Programmes Selected. No other details can be edited.
Alongwith this facility, PWD aspirants for CAT 2016 can also submit the requests for required assistance at the test centre during CAT 2016 examination. This option has also been enabled along with error correction option from October 1 to 5, 2016.

The CAT application Webpage has a separate Tab to capture the assistance required by PWD candidates. This includes option of using a scribe, request for a wheelchair, request to enable the zoom feature.
CAT 2016 test takers can now correct the errors in their already submitted CAT 2016 application form. The facility was not allowed earlier as stated by CAT 2016 exam convener. Deviating from earlier practices in CAT registration process when no such edit facility of error correction was allowed after submitting the registration form and candidates had to re-register after making payment of registration fee again, IIM Bangalore has allowed the CAT 2016 aspirants to edit the mistakes discovered after submission of the CAT application.

Permitted corrections in application form
You can edit only certain details in the submitted CAT 2016 registration form during the limited time error correction window from October 1 to 5, 2016.
Limited details like Percentage of Marks scored, Work Experience, Programmes Selected can be edited during this period.
You will not be able to modify any of the following: any details entered in the Personal Details section, any details entered in the Academics section, Exam Centre City Preferences. You can only view and print after this. Details are also available on the application submission page.

Errors; you cannot edit
You cannot edit certain personal details like Name, Date of Birth, email id, mobile number in the CAT 2016 application form. If you have made a mistake in these details, you were supposed to register again with a new email ID till September 27, the last date to submit the registration form.

Registration process for CAT 2016 was opened on August 8, and was closed at 5 PM on September 27 after getting an extension of 5 days from the earlier last date of September 22, 2016.
CAT 2016 exam will be held as computer based test in 138 test cities across the country on December 4, 2016 in morning and afternoon sessions. The exam will consist of 3 sections namely Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension; Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning; and Quantitative Aptitude. The duration of the exam will be of 3 hours with sectional time limit of 1 hour each. The admit card with all the requisite details including the test city & venue, allotted time slot will be available on CAT 2016 website from October 18 till exam date.
