IIM Bangalore conferred 5 years EQUIS Accreditation; lauded for the significant progress

IIM Bangalore has been conferred the EQUIS Accreditation for a further period of five years by the EQUIS Accreditation Board.
In a letter to the Director of IIM Bangalore, David M. Saunders PhD, Chairman, EQUIS Accreditation Board, said the evaluating team was impressed with the significant progress made since the school was last accredited by EQUIS in 2013.
The 5 year accreditation is the highest that EQUIS confers. According to IIM Bangalore It is a testimony to the fact that the evaluating team was confident about IIM Bangalores ability to sustain its efforts undertaken to achieve excellent standards in education, internationalization and research.

The Accreditation Board took particular note of the quality of the school as reflected in its attraction of very high quality students, the provision of well-ranked management programmes, the establishment of close connections with Indian business and government, the career success of its graduates and the outstanding campus in Indias high technology capital Bangalore.

The EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) is a global school accreditation system. It specializes in higher education institutions of management and business administration, run by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The fundamental objective of EQUIS, linked to the mission of EFMD, is to raise the standard of management education worldwide.

Speaking on the rare achievement, Prof. R. Srinivasan, Director Incharge, IIM Bangalore, said: The prestigious five-year EQUIS accreditation is an affirmation of the world-class quality of IIMB the school, its processes and its programmes. Prof. Sourav Mukherji, Dean of Academic Programmes, added: Lets celebrate and continue our journey towards making IIM Bangalore an exemplary institution.

IIM Bangalore is one of the premier institutes for management education and research in Asia and it continues to enhance its global standing among management schools around the world through innovation and strengthening of its research and teaching programmes. The PGP, Executive PGP and executive programmes of the institute are very highly placed in global rankings.

IIM Bangalores two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) has been ranked 19 in the Financial Times Global Masters in Management 2016 ranking. IIMB is also the only management school in India to lead in school diversity with 28% women in the two-year programme, 21% women faculty and 25% of women on the school advisory board. The Top 20 schools, ranked by FT this year, include University of St. Gallen, HEC Paris, London Business School, Esade Business School, among others.
IIM Bangalore has also topped the list of best management institutes in the India Ranking 2016 prepared by MHRDs National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016 the entrance exam for IIMs and other top rated B-schools like FMS, SPJIMR, MDI, JBIMS, NITIE, IMI, IMT among others was also convened by IIM Bangalore on December 4, 2016. CAT 2016 result is proposed to be declared in the 2nd week of January 2017.
