IIM Calcutta tops HBL-MBAUniverse.com B-school Ranking 2016-17; XLRI, MDI, SPJIMR Top Private B-schools

The wait is finally over! The much awaited The Hindu BusinessLine (HBL)-MBAUniverse.com B-school Rankings 2017 is out now. IIM Calcutta has emerged as the new No 1 B-school, edging out IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore. XLRI, MDI and SPJIMR are Top 3 non-IIM B-schools on the rankings. While top 3 IIMs have similar student profiles, academic rigour, research and placements, IIM Calcutta is the only Indian B-school that has earned all the top three Global Accreditations AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

The Ranking uses acomprehensive 360 degree evaluation framework built around three criterion: Input, Process and Output. In line with changing trends towards mission-alignment and globalization, this year onwards, Ranking gives weightage to Top 3 International Accreditations AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. No other International Accreditation is used for this purpose.

The Ranking wasconducted in guidance of an eminent advisory body that is chaired by Dr Bakul Dholakia, Former Director, IIM Ahmedabad & Former Director General, IMI New Delhi.Speaking on the Rankings, Dr Dholakia said, B-school Rankings serve a useful purpose of evaluating hundreds of institutions on key parameters for the benefit of student community, recruiters and other stakeholders.
