Higher Education Forum (HEF), the advocacy group on issues and challenges facing higher education in India, is conducting the 10th edition of its Annual Convention on March 9 at SIES College of Management Studies (SIESCOMS) Mumbai. HEF Convention will feature plenary session on timely themes like ‘Disruptions in Higher Education and Innovations in Teaching Learning Processes’, ‘Skills and Competencies for New Generation Teachers for Teaching New Generation Students (Gen Y & Gen Z)’ and ‘Means for improving quality of education: stakeholders’ perspective.’
Speaking on the convention theme, Convenor Dr A K Sen Gupta said, “Disruptions of all types have become a reality for businesses and educational institutions. And incidentally, these disruptions have given rise to opportunities for various types of innovations for management and faculty members of higher education institutions both at macro as well as micro level. It is indeed a time to celebrate innovation of all types. Keeping the above context in mind, the central theme of 10th Higher Education Forum (HEF) is Disruptions and Innovations in Higher Education Institutions where all issues related to innovations particularly in teaching learning processes will be debated and discussed.”
One of the highlights of the Convention will be the launch of Book on ‘Quality, Accreditation & Ranking’, which has been edited by Dr H Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH.

Higher Education Forum (HEF) is a voluntary non-profit group of individuals representing various stakeholders. Besides institutional partners, the members of the Forum include academicians & teaching community spanning all areas, corporate executives, academic entrepreneurs, management professionals, scientists, engineers. The Forum was launched in the year 2009 by a number of academicians and corporate representatives to create “voice of individuals” in the space of higher education. The Forum was started as a Google group and predominantly continues to be so; it has since been incorporated as a Public Charitable Trust. With more than 3,500 members, HEF is the largest community of higher education professionals in India. Sole objective of the Forum is to make Indian higher education system best in the world. The Forum is involved in a number of capacity building activities including a journal on higher education.
