
On July 4th, IIM Udaipur (IIMU) inaugurated 2022-24 batch of its flagship two-year MBA program. According to information shared by IIMU with MBAUniverse.com, 347 students have been admitted this year, which is higher than last year. The inauguration program was presided over by Prof. Janat Shah, Director, IIM Udaipur. Mr Gulbahar Taurani, MD & CEO, Philips Appliances Indian Subcontinent was the Chief Guest.
IIM Udaipur 2022-24 MBA Batch Highlights:
As per the information shared by IIMU with MBAUniverse.com, here are the batch highlights:
- Increase in Batch Size: In 2021-23 the size of the batch was 344 and now for 2022-24 the batch size is 347.
- Healthy Gender Ratio: The ratio of male and female is 69%-31%.
- Academic Diversity: Batch has good academic diversity too. 65% students are Engineers and 35% are non-Engineers.
- Young Age Profile: Average age of the batch is 25.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Taurani said, “Life is a motion of giving and taking. Choose carefully. We often make mistakes by externalizing our failures, rather than internalizing them, which may help us evolve in the way we want to be.”
Mr Taurani cautioned the incoming students to remain humble and motivated. “Never take the IIM tag for granted. It’s a new beginning, a new chapter of your life, make the most out of it. Use these years to learn. The theory is extremely important for a basic foundation. Never take adversities or challenges as problems rather leverage these as opportunities to embrace your growth,” said Mr Taurani.
Delivering his welcome address, Prof. Janat Shah, Director IIM Udaipur, congratulated the students and said, “You have been dreaming about this for a long time. Your hard work and efforts have made you attain a seat in one of the prestigious management institutes in the country.”
Talking about IIMU, Prof Shah said, “We are a student-run institute. Students here undergo a transformational journey and discover their unique selves. Define your journey with IIMU and help us attain our vision 2030 of high-quality research and student transformation.”
The ceremony also saw the distribution of scholastic awards to the best performing students in their respective terms for the first-year students of the MBA Program of 2021-23. The Director’s Awards were also awarded on the occasion.
Set up in 2011, IIMU aims to be a world-class management school. IIMU gained AACSB accreditation in November 2018 and was listed on the prestigious QS 2020 Masters in Management Rankings as well as the Financial Times (FT) Master in Management Ranking 2019.
