IIM Udaipur has inaugurated its diverse and largest 13th MBA 2024-26 batch with 384 students. The Batch comprises of 32 percent female students and 42 percent Non-Engineers. The 60 percent of the batch has work experience. On the occasion Prof. Ashok Banerjee, Director IIM Udaipur welcomed the batch and the Chief Guest Sonny Iqbal of Egon Zehnder shared his experiential journey with the incoming students
IIM Udaipur Welcomes Largest MBA batch 2024-26

The Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur has inaugurated the 2024-26 batch of its flagship Two-Year MBA program, the biggest batch with 384 students. Last year the 2023-25 batch size was of 360 students and before that the 2022-24 batch had 347 students. Prof. Ashok Banerjee, Director IIM Udaipur, presided over the event. Mr. Sonny Iqbal of Egon Zehnder was the Chief Guest. Sonny Iqbal helped found Egon Zehnder’s offices in New Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai. He advises family businesses on succession, founder transition, governance, and family charter development across markets. Sonny co-founded and, until recently, co-led the Firm’s global Family Business Advisory Practice. Drawing from his extensive experience in the corporate world and the global Family Business Advisory Practice, Mr. Iqbal shared valuable life lessons with the students.

IIMU MBA 2024-26 Batch: Gender Diversity Rising
IIM Udaipur is at the forefront of achieving gender diversity. For 2024 the incoming MBA batch comprises of overall 32% female students and 68% male students. This ratio remains same as was for 2023-25 batch

Ratio of Non-Engineers Goes Down Slightly at IIMU MBA 2024-26 Batch
Academic Diversity is another aspect of IIMU’s MBA programme. This year IIM Udaipur witnessed 42% of the students from non-engineering background while 58% are engineers. Students from various disciplines such as Arts/Science/Commerce have joined IIM Udaipur MBA 2024-26 batch. The ratio of Non Engineers in 2023-25 batch was 45%.

Work Experience of the batch
60% students of the IIMU MBA 2024-26 batch have work experience and only 40% students are Freshers.

Best Performing Students Awarded
At the inauguration ceremony, IIM Udaipur distributed scholastic awards to the best performing students in their respective terms for the first-year students of the MBA Program of 2023-25 who are now in their Final Year. The awards were given to the following best performing students in each of the five sections

IIMU Gives Director’s Awards on the Occasion
On the occasion, Director’s Awards were also given. The students who were conferred with the awards include Deepti Singh, Mansi Jain, Vishwajeet T Khot, Alekhya Tummala, Abhishek Kumar, Joshua Jude Almeida, Tathagat Uday, Agarwal Naman Khemchand, Gorli Sindhu, Rushil Singhal, Chaganti Sri Satya Sahithi, Gurupreet Singh Sachdev, Soumyadeep Das, Mayank Sharma, John Medwin V, Ayush Saini, and Shubham Mani Kaushik.

The ceremony proceedings were managed by Mr. Uday Bhaskar, Program Officer, and a vote of thanks was given by Prof. Shobhit Aggarwal.

Addressing the new batch, the Chief Guest Mr Iqbal stressed upon the importance of combining hard work and dedication with strategic growth in both horizontal and vertical dimensions and  urged the students to focus on forging good relationships and managing those relationships wisely at all stages of their careers.

Welcoming the new batch to a transformational journey at the premier management institute, Prof. Ashok Banerjee, Director of IIM Udaipur spoke about the newly revised curriculum tailored for this batch, aiming to provide a unique and transformative educational experience. Prof. Banerjee also talked about RAPID Transformation in the active course of two years of MBA at IIM Udaipur, where RAPID stands for Resilience, Adaptability, Problem-Solving Skills, Inquisitiveness and Discipline.

Prof. Rajesh Nanarpuzha, Dean, Programs, emphasised the importance of the student's role at IIMU, and said, "Students should think about their first day in IIMU as the start of a new journey which will continue over the next decades in their life. They should use the time at IIMU for creating building blocks for the same. IIMU has an existing culture. Students should always look to shape it for the better. They should leave IIMU better than where they found it."

In his inspiring welcome address, Prof. Debanjan Mitra, Chairperson of the two-year MBA program, encouraged the new batch to embrace the opportunities and challenges ahead, emphasising the importance of critical and intellectual thinking.
