Program Highlight

The two year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), which was launched in 1994, is the flagship programme of MDI Gurgaon. MDI’s PGDM is designed to nurture students and help them build and enhance their managerial competence. Students can complete a part of their studies at a foreign institution with which MDI has an agreement for the exchange of students. Students of MDI PGDM programme are offered high salary packages in final placements.  

PGDM programme of MDI Gurgaon is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India and is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to an MBA degree of an Indian University. The PGDM is consistently rated among India’s top 10 programmes.

Curriculum

MDI Gurgaon PGDM programme is taught with innovative pedagogy which includes lectures, case studies, seminars, assignments, live projects, group discussions, business games, outbound based experiential learning activities, educational excursions, role plays, simulation exercises, structured and unstructured group work, field visits among others. Widespread use of Information Technology (IT) in the learning processes is made. The Field-based projects are conducted to get better insights into workplace reality. The curriculum is revised on an ongoing basis with practitioner input.

The PGDM programme courses are offered from the key areas of Accounting & Finance, Operations, Management, Economics & Public Policy, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management, Information Management, Strategy & General Management.

The curriculum is covered in Six terms of about three months each with three terms in each year of the programme. The core (compulsory) courses are covered in four terms, with the bulk covered in the first three terms. A Compulsory eight-to-ten weeks long internship after term 3 to be completed. 

Second year students are offered elective/ optional courses to specialize in a maximum of two of the following functional areas: Accounting & Finance, Operations Management, Marketing, Strategy, Information Management. The Specialization requires a minimum of five elective courses (15 credits) offered by that Area. The Students can opt for 14 to 17 electives (42 to 51 credits). CGPA would be calculated using the 14 electives (42 credits) completed with best performance.

MDI follows a continuous evaluation system. A student earns a letter grade in each course with an associated grade point. The credit-weighted average of these grade points in the programme is the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

A student can study for one term in a partner foreign institution in lieu of his/her study term at MDI. A number of international scholarships are available for these students.

Eligibility Criteria

MDI Gurgaon eligibility criteria for PGDM Admission have following key points:   
The candidate must hold a minimum 3 years’ bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA 
The applicant must have also scored a minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in class 10 and 12.
Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent examination) can also apply to the PGDM Program
Applicant should appear in CAT. MDI uses CAT scores for Indian Candidates for shortlisting the candidates for its programmes.

Admission Process

  • The candidates seeking admission to various PGDM programmes at MDI Gurgaon should appear in CAT exam and separately apply for MDI admission
  • Shortlisting of candidates for the GDPI process will be done on the basis of the details provided in the application form and their CAT scores. 
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interviews at a center in one of the following cities: Bangalore, Gurugram, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai. Centers other than Gurugram are tentative. The GDPI process may also be conducted online through zoom for which the intimation will be given to the short-listed candidates in advance.
  • The final selection of the candidates will be based on weightages of CATscores, GD & PI, Academic merit, Academic diversity, Work experience and social diversity.

How to Apply

How to Apply for Admission at MDI Gurgaon?

MDI Gurgaon offers facility to use a single common online application form to apply for all the PGDM programmes. The form is made available at MDI website for its both campuses – MDI Gurgaon and MDI Murshidabad. Key details of MDI application process for admission 2024 are as below:

  • Candidates have to make an online payment of Rs. 3000 (Rupees three thousand only) plus 18% GST irrespective of the number of programmes they apply for.
  • Candidates applying for both MDI-G and MDI-M have to make an online payment of Rs. 3590 (Rupees three thousand five hundred ninety only)
  • NRI Candidates for MDI Gurgaon and Foreign Nationals/ Gulf Quota/ OCI candidates for MDI Murshidabad will have to make an online payment of Rs. 8496 (Rupees eight thousand four hundred ninety-six only)
  • The combined online application form for MDI Gurgaon (PGDM/PGDM-HRM/PGDM-IB/PGDM-Business Analytics) & MDI Murshidabad (PGDM) is on the MDI website https://www.mdi.ac.in/ with necessary instructions
  • Online registration will be open till Friday, November 24, 2023, 17:00 hrs. 
  • Applicants need to select the programme (PGDM/PGDM-HRM/PGDM-IB/PGDM-Business Analytics) they wish to apply for
  • The candidates seeking admission to various PGDM programmes 2024-26 at MDI Gurgaon should appear in CAT 2023.
