Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives

IIM Tiruchirappalli launched the PGPBM programme at its Chennai campus to groom working executives who aspire to move into senior leadership roles. Towards this, the programme aims to develop competent professional managers, capable of working in any sector of organized activity, provide leadership and achieve excellence even as they contribute to the welfare of society at large. Key Program Highlights are:

• PGPBM is Specifically designed to cater to the demands of the working executive.
   
• Programme is conducted in convenient classroom learning slots on weekends (Saturdays - Sundays)
   
• The programme duration is 24 months with 960 hours of classroom learning in-person.
   
• PGPBM Curriculum is completely aligned with the two-year full-time MBA Programme being offered at Trichy. It has 21 core courses, 15 elective courses and 1 industry project.
   
• Students are awarded an MBA Degree upon Programme completion in IIM Trichy's annual convocation.
   

For PGPBM, IIM Tiruchirappalli uses the concept of credit to define the weightage of a course in the curriculum. Courses are listed as one, two or three credit courses depending on an indicative workload for each course. A three credit course involves about 100 hours of work, of which 30% is spent inside the class room and the balance outside the class in preparation and assignments. One and two credit courses would have a proportionately lesser workload.

Preparation for the classroom entails preparation both before and after the class. Prior to the classroom session, students are required to prepare for the assigned case, go through the assigned readings and work on exercises and assignments, among others. Subsequent to the class session, students are required to review and reflect on the session, and prepare for the components of assessment.

In the programme both Core courses and electives are offered. Core courses are compulsory for all students and are offered in the four terms of the programme. Each student has to do a total of 51 credits of core courses. Electives are courses which are chosen by the students and are offered in second year. The student has to take a minimum total of 45 credits in electives over the last four terms.

All candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and with applications complete in all respects will be called for a written test. The written exam will test the candidates on their quantitative ability, verbal ability, data interpretation, and logical reasoning skills. The examination will be for about 150 minutes.
Candidates having a valid test score of CAT 2023 or GMAT score (test taken between May 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024) are exempted from the Written Test. They may or may not go for written test
Candidates will be shortlisted for a Personal Interview based on their CAT, GMAT or written test scores as applicable. Only the candidates selected for Personal Interview (PI) would be intimated by email.
A merit list of successful candidates will be prepared 
Admission offers will be sent to only the candidates in merit list

A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 2,000/- for general category students and a non-refundable fees of Rs.1000/- for SC/ST/DAP students has to be remitted to “IIMT Chennai Centre”
Candidates availing concessional application fee are required to attach a copy of the relevant caste certificate with their application.
