DTE CAP 2024 for MBA/MMS Admissions 2024: Registration Process Begins in May; Check How to Apply, Fees, CAP Process

MAH MBA CET CAP 2024 for MBA 2024 admission in JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA and 330+ other MBA Colleges in Maharashtra will start soon after the declaration of MAH MBA CET 2024 result. The CET Cell will launch the MAH MBA CET CAP 2024 portal in the last week of May 2024 with the CAP 2024 registration process. The notification for DTE CAP Process 2024 is also to be released soon. CET Cell at DTE Maharashtra has a list of 240+ Facilitation Centres (FCs) to expedite the process of CAP document confirmation and MBA admission 2024 in 330+ management institute in Maharashtra.

4.1 Exemption in MBA CAP 2024 Registration Fees

Candidates who have registered for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2024 are not required to pay any fees for registration for admission. However other candidates who have obtained score which is valid for admission in academic year 2023-23 in CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT and have not registered for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2024 are required to pay fees as above. The Fee is to be paid only by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ UPI etc. through Online mode. Please note that the Fees paid is non-refundable and No other mode of payment shall be permitted.

5. MAH CET MBA CAP 2024 Cutoff

The highest score awarded in MAH CET 2024 is 99.99 percentile. JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA have cut offs between 99 to 99.95 percentile. No candidate scores 100 percentile. The cut offs for final selection and allotment of seat in top MBA college through DTE CAP for MBA 2024 admission are expected to remain low since the top score in MAH MBA CET 2024 does not go very high. 

6. Eligibility Criteria for MAH MBA CET CAP 2024

MBA CET CAP Eligibility Criteria as prescribed overall by CET cell is that the candidates who have appeared in MAH CET 2024; CAT 2023, CMAT 2024 and other All India MBA entrance tests, can register and apply for MBA/MMS Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2024. JBIMS Mumbai will also offer admission to its flagship MMS program through the DTE CAP 2024. The category wise MBA CET CAP Eligibility Criteria is shared below:

(i)The Candidate should be an Indian National; (ii) Passed minimum three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by any of the Universities recognized by UGC or AIU in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories, Economically weaker section and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) (iii)The candidate should have obtained non zero positive score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority (MAHMBA/MMS-CET 2024).
 
 
 
(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National; (ii) Passed minimum Three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by the University recognised by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories, Economically weaker section and Persons With Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalent; (iii)The candidate should have obtained non zero positive score in any one of the following examinations. - CET conducted by the Competent Authority or Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Institute of Management (CAT) or Common Management (i) Passed minimum Three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by the University recognised by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or its equivalent. (ii) Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.. ADMISSION NOTICE FOR MBA/MMS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-25 Page 2 of 4 Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalent; (iii) Obtained non zero score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority (MAHMBA/MMS-CET 2024). Aptitude Test Conducted by National Testing Agency (CMAT) or Xavier Aptitude Test conducted by Xavier School of Management Jamshedpur (XAT) or Entrance Test for Management Admissions conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (ATMA) or Management Aptitude Test Conducted by All India Management Association (MAT) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test Conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council, United States of America (GMAT).
(i) Passed minimum Three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by the University recognised by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or its equivalent. (ii) Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act..

7. How to Register for MAH MBA CET CAP 2024?

  • You should apply online on www.mahacet.org as per schedule when the DTE CAP 2024  registration process opens
  • Ensure to register for CAP 2024 by the last date otherwise your candidature will not be considered
  • You are required to complete DTE CAP 2024 Registration online, fill & submit online application form and upload the required documents from anywhere through the computer connected to internet
  • Choose convenient Online or Offline document verification mode when applying for CAP 2024
  • You need not visit personally for verification and confirmation of the application form in case of E-Scrutiny mode selected
  • Your application & documents shall be verified and confirmed by the designated E-Scrutiny Center through online mode or if you select Physical Scrutiny, you need to visit nearest Physical Scrutiny Centre

8. CAP Document Verification Process

The CET Cell of Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra will also announce dates for document verification for participation in MBA CET CAP Round 2024. This can be done online.

 

For the purpose of document verification, the concept of E-Scrutiny of the documents and Physical Scrutiny of the documents is introduced by the Competent Authority. You can choose any one mode for document verification during online form filling.

 

CET Cell will also announce a list of 330-340 'Setu Suvidha Kendra' (Facilitation Centres) where document verification process after online registration is conducted.

 

E-Scrutiny of Application Form for DTE CAP: Errors or No Errors

  • If no error is found, the status of verification & confirmation of the application form shall be available in candidates Login along with receipt cum Acknowledgement
  • If error is found, the details of errors shall be intimated to candidates by reverting back to him/her Application for its rectification through candidates Login will be available.
  • Editing of the errors in the CAP Application form: The Candidate shall edit the reverted application form in given schedule and re-submit the application for e-Scrutiny through his/her login.
  • NRI/PIO/OCI/CIWGC/FN candidates should send the print of online filled & submitted application form & copy of uploaded documents by hand/speed post/courier for verification & confirmation to “Director, Sydenham Institute of Management Studies & Research & Entrepreneurship Education(SIMSREE), B-Road, Churchgate, Mumbai 400020”

9. DTE CAP Round 2024: Final Selection Process for MBA/MMS admission 2024

CAP is the Centralized Admission Process for MBA admission in Maharashtra B-schools and is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra. DTE CAP 2024 process starts with fresh registration after MAH CET result is declared. The process is followed by document verification after which merit list is announced.

 

Candidates seeking admission in MBA/MMS 2024-26 courses in JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA, Welingkar, N L Dalmiya, DSIMS and other Maharashtra MBA colleges need to register and apply for Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2024 by making the payment of prescribed application and participation fee. 

 

To start DTE CAP 2024 process for MBA/MMS admission 2024, the CET Cell of Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra will designate 200+ Facilitation Centres where document verification process after online registration can be conducted.

After each of the three CAP rounds, category wise merit list will be generated with cut offs and the candidates will be allotted designated B-school as per their merit position. Within a day or two these candidates will have to report to the allotted B-schools and accept the admission offer. However, facility is provided by CET Cell to participate in further CAP rounds also to explore admission chances in a better college. 

10. Important instructions for MBA/MMS admission seekers through MAH MBA CET 2024 Counselling

  • The List of the institutes identified as Admission reporting Centers (ARC) is available on the website.
  • The candidate can report to any nearest ARC.
  • Once the candidate confirms his/her Option form online through his/her Login for the respective admission rounds, Candidate will not be allowed to change/cancel the option/preference submitted under any circumstances.
  • A Candidate who has been allotted a seat shall download the “Provisional Seat Allotment Letter”
  • The Seat Acceptance Fee is Rs. 5,000/- for Candidates of General Category, VJ/DT, NT, SBC/OBC Category and Rs. 1,000/- for SC, ST Category Candidates.
  • The candidate has to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee during first reporting only. This fee shall be transferred to the institution after deducting Rs. 1,000/- towards processing fee.
  • The Seat Acceptance fees is to be paid at ARC through ONLINE MODE only.
  • Allotted Seat will be cancelled if, at any time, any of the documents or certificates is found to be invalid or fraudulent and/or the Candidate does not meet the eligibility norms.
  • Candidates who want to reject the allocated seat can do so by not remitting the seat acceptance fee at the Reporting Centre in scheduled period
  • For cancellation of admission before reporting to the institution, the candidate shall apply to the Admission Reporting Center to which he has paid Seat Acceptance Fee
  • Candidate can avail the facilities for filling & confirmation of online option/preference form free of cost at Facilitation Centre (FC).
  • All ARC’s remain open on all days including holidays and Sundays for confirmation of admission during the schedule.

11. MBA Admission Availability for All India candidates on CAP Vacant Seats

While a major chunk of seats to the tune of 65% to 85% are reserved for Maharashtra state candidates and minority category, there are 15% to 35% seats which are offered to All India category candidates. This number increases in case of non reporting by MAH State category candidates and the vacant seats are offered to All India category candidates.

 

Since not all the MBA admissions in Maharashtra B-schools may be finalised through CAP round, there would be many vacant seats in MBA colleges. DTE Maharashtra clarifies ‘The seats remaining vacant after offering admissions to the candidates through CAP due to non reporting and cancellation after CAP Round-III will be filled in by the managements of the respective institutes. Admission authorities of the respective institutes will have to process these admissions strictly as per the CET guidelines.’

 

The MBA seats are available almost in all the B-schools. If your name appeared in the Final Merit List published by the DTE for Online Submission & Confirmation of Option Form by candidates aspiring for admissions to MBA/MMS 2024-26 batch in the Government, Government Aided, University Managed Institutes, University Managed Departments and Unaided private professional educational institutes, you should check your option and grab the opportunity after reading carefully the Rules/Regulations & Information.

12. JBIMS MMS Admission 2024 Criteria

JBIMS Mumbai Autonomous status was restored by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on September 2, 2019.

12.1 JBIMS Admission Process 2024

Key changes after the Apex Court’s decision in case of JBIMS admission process and for other MBA colleges offering MBA/MMS admission through the CAP 2024 are:

  • JBIMS offers 85% Seats to Maharashtra State Candidates and 15% to All India candidates after getting its Autonomous status restored.
  • The admission process at JBIMS is conducted in accordance with the Autonomous status of the institute
  • Out of total 120 seats, admission to 102 seats is available for Maharashtra State candidates from any university/department in the state and 18 seats for All India category candidates.
  • Entire admission process is done in order of merit
