NMAT by GMAC registration opens; NMIMS University MBA and 19 B-schools to accept scores; no change in exam pattern

Registration for NMAT by GMAC 2017 has opened on July 4 and will continue till October 3, 2017. NMAT by GMAC is the only exam acceptable to MBA admission in NMIMS University and is one of the key exams for admission in 19 other B-schools. There is no change in the structure and content in the exam which would be on the same pattern as that of last year.

If you wish to seek admission in MBA programme at NMIMS University, NMAT by GMAC 2017 is the only answer to your search. Gateway to MBA at NMIMS University, NMAT by GMAC exam will be held during 75 days test window from October 5 to December 18, 2017.

The School of Business Management (SBM) of SVKM’s NMIMS, Deemed to be University is India’s one of top ten highly ranked premier business schools. NMIMS accepts the scores of only NMAT by GMAC exam for domestic candidates. Accordingly, the admission to 2 years full time MBA, MBA-HR & MBA-Pharmaceutical Management at Mumbai Campus, PGDM at Bengaluru Campus and PGDM at Hyderabad Campus for the academic year 2018-20 will be through NMAT by GMAC 2017 exam performance. The NMAT by GMAC exam structure and content will not change in 2017 and will remain on the 2016 test pattern. Sharing this fact with MBAUniverse.com, Vikram Shah, Director, Product Management, Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) says “There is no change in the content of the test from last year.” With this announcement GMAC has opened on July 4 the registration process for NMAT by GMAC 2017 exam.

Mr Shah has also assured, “If there are any changes brought in by GMAC in the content of the test then GMAC will notify the candidates and schools well in advance and not at the last minute.”

Exam pattern remains unchanged
NMAT by GMAC 2017 is to remain a computer based objective type multiple-choice test as per last two years exam pattern. In 2016 also there were 120 questions divided in 3 sections in the exam with a test duration of 2 hours. Same pattern is to continue in NMAT by GMAC in 2017. It means the aspirant will have 1 minute per question to solve. No descriptive questions are proposed to be asked in NMAT by GMAC this year also.

Test components
NMAT by GMAC shall have following test components. The time allocation and number of questions would also not change and the entire exam will have following pattern

The three sections of the NMAT by GMAC are individually timed. Test takers must answer questions and review answers of each section within the allotted time.The NMAT by GMAC will give each candidate a randomly generated test from a pool of questions, delivered one-at-a-time. The number of questions, difficulty levels, and the time limit for each of the sections is predetermined and, are the same.

NMAT by GMAC also allows candidate to choose the section order before they start their test. The time limit for each of the 3 sections in NMAT by GMAC test is fixed and candidates should complete each section within the time limit provided. Candidates are therefore, not allowed to move between the sections during the test.

More B-schools will accept NMAT by GMAC 2017 exam scores. GMAC has published a list of 20 Universities/B-schools who will accept MAT by GMAC test scores for admission to their MBA/PGDM programmes.

NMAT by GMAC 2017 will be conducted in a testing window of 75 days from October 5 to December 18, 2017. Candidates have the facility to schedule, reschedule, retake the test at their own convenient date when they are ready to appear in the exam.

Registration process: Key modifications
The registration process for NMAT by GMAC that has opened on July 4 has brought a few modifications that could be helpful to the prospective test takers. According to Shah “Many key aspirant friendly changes have been introduced this year.”

GMAC has introduced more simplified features in the registration process of NMAT by GMAC exam. More online registration login methods to facilitate the registration process without the need to remember every time a new password, have been introduced.
