XAT 2018 Registration from Aug 3rd week
The registration for XAT 2018 is proposed to open in the third week of August, 2017. The format of XAT 2018 would remain pen-paper based. XAT 2018 scores will be used by XLRI and other XAMI institutions and also by more than 100 other associated B-schools for admission to MBA/PGDM 2018-20 programme.
Last year in XAT 2017 around 90,000 students registered and applied for the exam, making it second most popular exam after CAT.
XAT 2018: Exam pattern
XAT 2018 is going to be on the similar pattern like last many years with no change in the pattern and syllabus. XLRI has been conducting Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) for the last 60 years at All India level in the paper pencil mode. XAT which is aimed to select the most appropriate candidates who wish to pursue management education still goes in paper pen mode.
Giving the rationale for retaining the exam in pen-paper mode, XLRI said, “The format of XAT would remain pen-paper based. This is to ensure that candidates of all backgrounds are at par, so that those who have pre-familiarity of operating computers, specially coming from privileged background or having worked in IT sector, do not get any advantage over others who do not have access to computers. The paper-pen mode also ensures that all candidates are tested on exactly the same set of questions, and not on different sets.”
