IIM Indore launches new PGP-HRM programme: Announces CAT 2017 cut offs for admission
More number of CAT 2017 aspirants who perform well in the exam on November 26, 2017 can get admission opportunity at IIM Indore as the B-school will offer admission to its newly launched 2 year full time Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM)
More number of CAT 2017 aspirants who perform well in the exam on November 26, 2017 can get admission opportunity at IIM Indore as the B-school will offer admission to its newly launched 2 year full time Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM) which will see the admission to its maiden batch in 2018 at IIM Indore campus.
So far IIM Indore used to offer admission to around 530 CAT exam takers, at its Indore and Mumbai campuses. A good number of 452-455 candidates used to be offered admission at IIM Indore at its Indore campus, 75 students used to get admission opportunity at IIM Indore-Mumbai campus. Now, with new PGP-HRM programme added from the academic year 2018, IIM Indore will offer admission to 30 more candidates to its PGP-HRM programme, increasing the total strength to 560.

PGP-HRM: 1st year at Indore and 2nd year at Mumbai campus
The 2 years study schedule for PGP-HRM of IIM Indore will be divided with the learning experience both at Indore and Mumbai campuses of IIM Indore. According to Prof Jagannathan, The participants will complete the first year of their coursework in the Indore campus. They will attend classes along with PGP participants and complete all the core courses along with the PGP participants.
For the second year of their coursework, participants will move to the Mumbai campus of IIM Indore. In the second year, they will complete specialized courses pertaining to HRM. Also, they will be completing industry projects and interacting with HR and business leaders.
PGP-HRM: Key USPs
Sharing the USPs and qualities that an HR leader need to become CEO of an organization, Prof Jagannathan outline brief details. According to him The USPs of PGP-HRM are its emphasis on analytics, applied psychological tools and business strategy to groom a new wave of HR professionals.
According to Prof Jagannathan, there are four core qualities that are crucial for a PGP-HRM participant and they are:
The participant must possess the quality of continuous learning as behaviours and organisational contexts keep shifting in a dynamic sense
The participant must possess the quality of having an inquiring mind as human capital dilemmas often require contextual interventions
The participant must be able to demonstrate perseverance as several organisational problems need persistent negotiation and sensitivity in order to be resolved
The participant must be able to take on leadership responsibilities, as we want more HR leaders to become CEOs of their organisations
At IIM Indore, a PGP-HRM participant will build multi-disciplinary competencies connecting analytics, psychometric and human developmental interventions with organisational realities. The participant will also have to appreciate shifts in cultural, technological, demographic and global environments.
PGP-HRM: Admission through CAT 2017- apply before Sep 20
The admission process for PGP-HRM at IIM Indore will be through CAT 2017. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a separate Written Aptitude Test and Personal Interview. The basic eligibility criteria is a bachelors degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD)).
CAT 2017 aspirants therefore, should opt for the IIM Indore PGP(HRM) programme alongwith PGP at the time of finalizing their CAT 2017 online registration and application form. The last date to register and apply for CAT 2017 is September 20 till 5 PM. Only 2 days are left to submit your CAT 2017 application form.
Shortlisting criteria for PGP-HRM
CAT 2017 scores will not play a major role in admission process for PGP-HRM 2018-20 batch at IIM Indore and candidates with excellent academics will be preferred by IIM-Indore in the shortlisting process and final admission round. Announcing its CAT 2017 cut offs at 90 percentile in CAT exam, IIM Indore admission criteria for PGP-HRM 2018-20 at IIM Indore will award only 20% weightage to CAT 2017 scores and rest to other parameters in shortlisting for PI-WAT stage.
IIM Indore has again become a front runner in announcing the admission policy that will attract more candidates with excellent academic profile below graduation than only considering the CAT 2017 scores.
CAT 2017 Cut offs
IIM Indore will shortlist the candidates for next round of admission process comprising Written Ability Test (WAT) and personal Interview (PI) on the basis of scores obtained in CAT 2017 and other parameters. The minimum CAT 2017 percentile cut off proposed by IIM Indore is 90.

Class 10 & 12 marks get 76% weight
Class 10 marks will be awarded 36% weight while class 12 marks will be awarded 40% weight in shortlisting process at IIM Indore but no weightage will be awarded for bachelors degree marks.
Candidates will be shortlisted for WAT & PI stage on the basis of composite scores which will be arrived at by accounting for the academic profile also.The Composite Score therefore is calculated on the basis of CAT 2017 score, academic scores, and gender diversity.

Women applicants to get 4% weight
IIM Indore will award a weightage of 4% to female candidates only to ensure gender diversity while shortlisting the candidates for PI stage. No weightage to male or transgender candidates will be awarded.
The computation is as follows: Gender Diversity Factor (GDF)
= 4 for Female Applicants
= 0 for Other Applicants
Calculation of composite score
Composite Score = Sum of the above scores (Max 100) is the formula to arrive at the maximum score to check whether you would be shortlisted by IIM Indore after CAT 2017 result is announced in the 2nd week of January 2018. Please note that Zcandidate, Zmin, Zmax for 10th and 12th Standard are computed using the normalisation process.
Please also note that after declaration of shortlist, IIM Indore will not send any individual regret letter to applicants who are not shortlisted for WAT and PI.
10th & 12th Class marks get highest weight
No other IIM including IIM Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Lucknow has announced such a high weightage of 76% for academics upto class 12 as announced by IIM Indore in its admission criteria for PGP HRM or PGP 2018-20. With a view to increase academic excellence in its class rooms, IIM Indore has announced award of higher weightage to excellent academic profile than to CAT 2017 scores.
Final admission at IIM Indore: PI-WAT get 60% weight
In the final selection round comprising the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), IIM Indore will award highest weightage of 60% to these two factors while performance in CAT 2017 scores will get only 20% weight.

Candidates short-listed for WAT and PI will be intimated in the month of January 2018. IIM Indore has advised that it will not send the individual regret letters to applicants who are not shortlisted for WAT and PI.
IIM Indore will conduct the admission interviews for PGP-HRM in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, and Mumbai only.
Programme fee
According to Prof Jagannathan, The fee structure will be formalized shortly. However, the fee structure will be similar to the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) being offered by IIM Indore. The present PGP fee for 2 year programme at IIM Indore is Rs.14 lakhs.
