2.31 lakh candidates register for CAT 2017; number at par with last CAT year

CAT 2017 registration number has closed with 2.31 lakh applicants finally applying for 20 IIMs. This year the CAT registration number revealed by the CAT 2017 exam convener shares the figure for the candidates who have completed, submitted and have paid their registration fee. During the last CAT years only the registration number was released without any clear distinction between the number of candidates with paid or unpaid CAT registration fee.
According to Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, convener CAT 2017 and faculty at IIM Lucknow We have a total of approximately 2.31 lakh registrations (Completed and fee paid).

CAT 2017 registration and application process was closed at 5PM today on September 25, 2017 after getting an extension of 5 days from September 20 to 25. There is no chance to further extend the CAT 2017 registration last date.
20000 apply during extended Registration window
According to Prof Dwivedi about 20000 candidates applied during the extended window of 5 days for CAT 2017 registration.

With this surprising volume of candidates, CAT 2017 registration which was extended by 5 more days from Sep 20 to Sep 25, 2017 stood closed at 5 PM. Although the registration count for CAT 2017 is almost at par with CAT 2016, it could be even more than last year in case the registration figures in last year CAT included the candidates who had not paid the CAT registration fee.

There are 144 test cities and more than 650 test venues where CAT 2017 will be conducted in a single day on November 26, 2017 in morning and afternoon sessions. The Admit Card for CAT 2017 can be downloaded from October 18 onwards.
