CAT 2017 Admit Card: 5 must compliance points; dont skip to avoid loss of candidature

The CAT 2017 Admit Card is the foremost and mandatory document to be carried to the CAT 2017 test venue without which you can not appear in the IIMs admission test. But it is not the only document that you have to carry to the test venue on the testing day on November 26, 2017.

CAT 2017 Admit card was out on October 25, 2017 on the CAT website iimcat.ac.in and the CAT 2017 aspirants can view and download their CAT 2017 Admit card by login at the CAT 2017 website with their CAT ID and password. You will need the printed hardcopy of CAT 2017 Admit card to be carried to CAT testing venue alongwith other important documents to establish your candidature. In case of non-compliance you may not be allowed to appear in the CAT 2017 exam.
IIM Lucknow, the CAT 2017 convening IIM has made it clear enough that non compliance of CAT Admit card instructions could be harmful to your candidature and you may not be allowed to appear in the CAT 2017 exam.

5 Key instructions in CAT Admit card
The 5 most important instructions, dos and donts and the mandatory documents required for the CAT test day as mentioned in the CAT 2017 Admit Card are:
Match your photograph, then affix
You will need the same photograph to paste in the given space on the hard copy of CAT 2017 Admit Card printed on A4 size paper. CAT Centre 2017 has directed the aspirants to affix the same photo as uploaded by you in your CAT 2017 registration form. Please note that affixing any other photo may also disqualify you from appearing in CAT 2017 exam.
Important: Your photograph and signature images should be legibly printed and visible on the photo ID card and should match the name on Admit Card. The Photo ID card should not be damaged or smudged. It will be better to check one now for the CAT exam day and if not available, get the same prepared well in advance as still 25 days are left for the exam.

Dont wear Jewelry of any Metal
You are not allowed to wear any metal or precious Jewelry including Gold, or any other metal. It could pose problem for women candidates. CAT test venue may not have any arrangement for safe keeping of these items and will create problem for you finding the place for safe keeping of the same.

Shoes not allowed inside testing room
CAT 2017 Admit card has clarified Candidates will be asked to remove their footwear beforeentering the test hall. If you wear the shoes, you will have to remove them and at the time of coming back, it is very much possible that you may waste more of your time in locating your shoes due to heavy rush. So, it is advisable to wear sandals, chappals, slippers instead of shoes.

Illegibly printed Admit card invalid
There are many tit bits which although are important but we forget at the last moment. So the 1st thing is to take print of your Admit card early and on A4 size paper as recommended by CAT Centre 2017.
The print of admit card will be valid only if the candidates photograph and signature images are legibly printed.

Dont depend on Affidavit only
IIM Lucknow has advised Candidates should also produce at least one original (not photocopied or scanned) valid (not expired) photo identification card (such as College ID, Employer ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhar Card, Identification Affidavit). The candidates photograph and signature should be legibly printed and visible on the photo ID card and should match the name on Admit Card. The Photo ID card should not be damaged or smudged.
Practically when you arrive at the CAT testing venue and produce the photo identification affidavit, you are asked to produce one more photo ID card from the above mentioned list. It will be better to have one more original photo ID card. It will be immaterial if you have some other address as the photo ID is needed to establish your correct identity.

The facility for identification affidavit is provided in addition to other photo identity proofs to facilitate the CAT 2017 aspirants who do not have any other photo id card as listed and shared by CAT Centre 2017. Since it is still time, you should get the identification affidavit prepared and keep one of the additional photo id proof ready also. Sign the admit card in invigilators presence
Do not put your signature on the admit card before you enter the CAT 2017 test venue and the invigilator comes to you. The signature on the admit card will have to be done before the invigilator in the testing room.

Dont carry anything extra
Please remember not to carry anything extra. It is advisable to keep minimum cash required for transportation if you are going by the public conveyance. You should carry only CAT 2017 Admit Card & Photo ID Card as detailed above.
Dont forget the reporting time
To avoid any inconvenience on the CAT testing day, it is advised by IIM Lucknow to visit the CAT exam centre a day before the November 26 to know the logistics. You are supposed to report at 7:30 AM for the forenoon session and at 1:00 PM for the afternoon session. CAT Centre 2017 has informed that no candidate will be allowed inside the test centre after 8:45 AM for the forenoon session and post 2:15 PM for the afternoon session
The CAT 2017 admit card will remain available for view and download till CAT 2017 exam day on November 26, 2017.
