IIFT 2017: Low score Cut offs announced by experts; difficulty level all time high in Verbal, GK
Experts at MBAUniverse.com, CL, T.I.M.E., IMS have announced lower IIFT score cut offs in IIFT 2017 exam as compared to last year. Despite 114 total questions in the exam as against 123 last year, IIFT 2017 entrance exam has proved more difficult.
IIFT cut off
In view of top coaching centres and experts, low cut offs in IIFT 2017 exam scores are expected as compared to last year in MBA (IB) 2018-20 admission to IIFT Delhi, Kolkata and newly launched Kakinada campuses.

MBAUniverse.com expects an overall cut off around 37 marks in IIFT 2017 exam score for admission to IIFT 2018-20 MBA (IB) batch. The overall and sectional cut offs announced by CL, T.I.M.E, IMS, shared below also endorse the expected reduction in the IIFT 2017 score cut-offs in shortlisting by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) for its three campuses.
For MBA (IB) 2018-20 at IIFT, it is expected that overall score cut-off will go down below 40 marks as against 48.5 marks last year.

Expected cut offs by CL
Cut-off for General category students, according to Career Launcher is most likely to be in the range of 38-40 marks. The corresponding figures for NC/OBC and SC/ST/PWD should be around 33-35 and 28-30 marks respectively. The cutoff for ST might go lower if number of applicants are lesser.

Experts at IMS expect the overall cut-off for the next round of admissions for IIFT-Delhi, IIFT-Kolkata and IIFT-Kakinada to be around 37.5-39.5 marks for General Category of students. For SC/ST/PH category of students, it is expected to be around 30 marks while for OBC (NCL) category of students, it is expected to be around 35.5 marks.

IIFT 2017 exam held on December 3, 2017 in paper pen mode from 10AM to 12 Noon proved to be the most surprising and difficult exam during the past many years. This year IIFT had 6 sections instead of earlier 4 and each part of the section was made a separate section. Despite 114 total questions in the exam as against 123 last year, IIFT 2017 entrance exam has proved more difficult. It is expected that the overall cut off for shortlisting at IIFT 2018-20 batch will remain around 37 marks.
The difficulty level of Verbal Ability and GK section has been rated as the highest by the test takers in IIFT 2017 exam. Experts at MBAUniverse.com and top preparation centres like CL are of the view that the overall cut off would go down by 8-10 marks in IIFT 2017 exam.
As against last year cut off of 47-48 marks, it is expected that the cut off for MBA (IB) 2018-20 would be around 37 marks.
IIFT 2017 Exam at a glance
The exam had 6 sections instead of earlier 4. Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Quant and General Awareness were made separate sections this year.
RC questions and Verbal Ability questions could not be compensated by each other. The Verbal Ability was rated as very tough as against last year. The General Awareness (GK) section was also equally very difficult. DI and LR are now separate sections and you need to clear the sectional cut off in both of them. .
Most of the candidates were found gasping for the time as they could not perform very well in GK and Verbal Ability sections in IIFT 2017 exam.

Overall IIFT score cut offs for General category candidates is expected to remain between 37 to 41 marks out of 100. Following sectional cut offs is also expected to lead the candidates to get shortlisted by IIFT and allot the different campuses located at Delhi, Kolkata and Kakinanada in Andhra Pradesh.

The test greeted the candidates with trickier and lengthier questions on almost all the sections. Candidates found it difficult to cross the hurdle of 50 questions out of 114 as against 123 last year.
