How much your CAT 2017 score will help you to get admission to IIM Shillong, IIM Rohtak, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur in the revised admission criteria for 2018-20 batch may no more be a matter of guess and speculation now. The 4 IIMs have announced their admission policy for 2018 with CAT 2017 cut offs which has a reduced the weightage to CAT 2017 exam scores in shortlisting as well as in final selection to their flagship management programmes.

The admission criteria at IIM Shillong, IIM Rohtak, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur shares the CAT cut offs for 1st stage shortlisting. Although the actual CAT 2017 cut offs may go higher than prescribed by these IIMs, it is expected that IIM Shillong cut offs, IIM Rohtak cut offs, IIM Trichy Cut offs and IIM Udaipur cut offs may go a little higher this year given the fact that CAT 2017 exam was a bit easier than last year CAT.

IIM Shillong: Cut offs
Shortlisting criteria applied by IIM Shillong comprises minimum requirement of 75 sectional percentile in CAT 2017. There is no prescribed minimum overall CAT 2017 percentile required by IIM Shillong in its shortlisting criteria.

Candidates will be shortlisted by IIM Shillong for WSAT & PI stage on the basis of composite scores which will be arrived at by accounting for the academic profile also.The Composite Score therefore is calculated on the basis of CAT 2017 score and academic scores.

If you have scored 80% marks in class 10 & 12 the required weightage for academic profile will be awarded to you. The actual CAT 2017 score cut off may go higher or lower slightly and please note no weightage for gender diversity has been announced by IIM Shillong

IIM Rohtak: Cut offs
IIM Rohtak cut off will depend upon the number of candidates opting for IIM Rohtak. It will offer admission on the basis of Common Admission process (CAP) 2018 which will be coordinated by IIM Rohtak for the second consecutive year. It will have the same shortlisting criteria as that of all participating IIMs for Common Admission Process (CAP) 2018.
Only the candidates meeting the cut-off criteria would be considered for shortlisting. The minimum requirement to be fulfilled by the candidates for being considered for shortlisting for WAT and PI is Cat cut off with 80 sectional and 90 overall percentile. These are eligibility criteria and do not imply entitlement.

The individual sectional percentile and the overall percentile may be lowered/relaxed, if the actual number of shortlisted candidates are found to be less than the required number of candidates to be called for WAT and PI in one or more categories. The relaxation in the cut-off criteria is to ensure sufficient number of candidates for each of the categories for WAT and PI process.

Comparatively new IIM, the IIM Trichy has achieved a high place in Ranking among the top MBA colleges in India. While the 1st stage shortlisting at IIM Trichy will be based on CAT 2017 cut offs, the B-school will offer admission on the basis of Common Admission Process (CAP) 2018 to be coordinated by IIM Rohtak from the month of February 2018 onwards.

The 1st stage shortlisting for IIM Udaipur Admission 2018 will need a minimum 80 sectional and 90 overall percentile score in CAT 2017. The Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be called for PA process on the basis of criteria prepared for each category.
If the actual number of short-listed candidates were found to be less or more than the required number of candidates to be called for WA & PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section-wise minimum score would be reduced or increased to get the desired number of candidates.

Almost all the IIMs have announced their admission policy with details on shortlisting criteria for 2018-20 batch and respective weightages for different factors including the CAT 2017 scores.
