IIM Trichy has two campuses. The main campus is at Tiruchirappalli which offers flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) and the other campus is at Chennai that offers Post Graduate Programme in Business Management (PGPBM). The PGPBM is meant for working executives only.

Cut off expected at 92
Focusing on increasing academic diversity in its class rooms, IIM Tiruchirappalli has amended its admission policy as other top IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta have done. IIM Trichy proposes to award diversified weightage in final selection process to flagship PGP 2018-20 batch with Non-engineers getting more points.
The admission process of IIM Trichy will take into consideration the candidates performance in CAT 2017, performance in Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis Test (WAT), academic record and relevant work experience.Although IIM Trichy has announced minimum required percentile in CAT 2017 as 90 overall and 80 as sectional for shortlisting, it is expected that the cut off may be a little higher and may go upto 92.
The criteria that would be used at the first stage of shortlisting at IIM Trichy to select candidates for Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test (PI & WAT) would be as under:

CAT 2017 score: Sole deciding factor for shortlist
IIM Trichy will use CAT 2017 percentile for shortlisting candidates for PI & WAT, however, achieving the cut-off percentile in CAT 2017 is a necessary but not sufficient condition for being shortlisted.
The other components in admission process will be taken into account by IIM Trichy while generating final merit list for admission. For the PI-WAT round the cut-off percentiles in CAT 2017 will be used to shortlist the candidates for the 2018-20 batch.
Actual cut offs, as stated by IIM Trichy, may vary from the minimum prescribed ones. IIM Tiruchirappalli will decide the number of candidates to be called for the PI & WAT for each category, depending on which the cut off percentiles can change.
CAT score gets 50% weight in final admission process
IIM Trichy proposes to use following parameters and corresponding weightages to arrive at the composite score of the candidates, which will be used to prepare the final merit list for admissions.

WAT & PI at IIM Trichy: Common process for 11 IIMs
IIM Trichy will participate in Common Admission Process (CAP) 2018 to be coordinated by IIM Rohtak for 11 new IIMs. CAP 2018 is proposed to begin in February 2018 and will comprise the Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis Test (WAT). The scores of PI and WAT obtained by the candidates will be sent to IIM Trichy who will then add scores for other components to make final admission offer.
The CAP 2018 would be conducted at New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. The exact date for PI & WAT will be communicated to the short-listed candidates by IIM Rohtak.
Assessment for final merit list: Important facts
IIM Trichy will assess the candidates seeking admission to PGPM on various parameters before announcing the final admission result. For different components which are awarded weightage by IIM Trichy, the candidate should focus on following and check the certain points on which they can improve:
Written Analysis Test (WAT)

The candidate is expected to have good Vocabulary, content of writing and writing skills
Personal Interview(PI)

This performance shall be measured by multiplying the percentage marks scored by the weightage applicable to the discipline.

IIM Trichy is the only IIM that awards weightage to Masters degree qualification apart from awarding high weightage to performance at undergraduate level.
Not only low weight will be awarded to CAT 2017 score, differential weightages shall be applied to different disciplines to account for the degree of difficulty in scoring in different disciplines. According to IIM Trichy To encourage diversity in the batch, differential weightage shall be applied to different disciplines
IIM Trichy has announced to award maximum points to Arts & Commerce. The weightage to be awarded is as follows
Engineering / Technology: 0.6; Science: 0.8; Arts / Medicine (including Pharmacy): 0.9; Commerce / Economics / Management: 1.0
Post Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test and based on above parameters and corresponding weightages including the weight awarded to CAT 2017 score, used to arrive at the composite score of the candidates, final merit list for admissions will be prepared for PGP 2018-20.
IIM Trichy fee structure
IIM Trichy does not charge a very high fee like many other top IIMs or private PGDM B-schools. The present PGPM course fee at IIM Trichy is Rs. 12.35 lakhs. Even this is not the deterrent for admission as you get a very high RoI for your investment in MBA at IIM Trichy.
