XAT 2018: December 15 is last date to apply for XAT, XLRI; Check 5 New Announcements

XLRI Jamshedpur, the XAT 2018 exam conducting authority has given financial relief, extended the last date to apply for XAT 2018 as well as for admission to XLRI programmes without late fee till December 15, and has made other important announcements with a rider also for the benefit of XAT 2018 aspirants.

Announcement-1: Last date to apply for XAT 2018 without late fee is Dec 15
XAT 2018 registration is still open without late fee till December 15, 2017. However the rider is that you must be among such XAT 2018 applicants who have registered till November 30 but have not paid the requisite registration fee due to one or other reason.

According to XLRI, the XAT 2018 conducting authority, “Candidates who have registered ​​on or before November 30th can make the payment​ online and offline​ without late fee till December 15, 2017.”

Earlier all the candidates who had registered for XAT 2018 but could not make payment of XAT application fee needed to pay the late fee to apply for XAT 2018, if they opted to make payment after November 30.

Announcement-2: Apply to XLRI programmes without late fee till December 15
Offering the facility to the candidates by extending the last date to apply for XLRI programmes also without late fee, XLRI Jamshedpur says, “Candidates who have paid for XAT and wish to apply to XLRI programmes can do so by sending a demand draft along with a request to the Admissions Office.”

This is a good development for the XLRI aspirants as most of the candidates apply to more than one PGDM programme at XLRI and for each programme, they have to shell out substantial amount of late application fee.

This will save the candidates from incurring high financial expenses.

Announcement-3: Option to make payment by DD is open
Those who wish to apply and make payment through DD, the option to pay by Demand draft will continue till the last date to apply

Announcement-4: Late fee applicable for new applicants
However for the candidates who opt to register now, the XAT registration between December 1 and 15, 2017, the late fee is applicable.

Announcement-5: Wait, if registration payment not reflected
If the XAT exam fee has been deducted from your account but is not reflected in your XATRegistration, please do not worry. According to XLRI, “Kindly wait for 1-2 days in case of payment deducted from respective card/account, but not reflected against your registration in payment status page.”

Graduate with pass marks can apply
You don’t need any minimum percentage of marks in graduation for XAT 2018 registration and application. Moreover, you can also apply to XLRI even if you have scored less than 50% marks in your bachelor’s degree exam.

XAT 2018 Registration & Application fee 
The application fee for XAT 2018 till December 15, 2017 is Rs.1650/-, if you had registered on or before November 30 but have not yet paid the requisite registration fee.

The fee is to Rs. 2000/- if you choose to register new till the last date of December 15.

Last opportunity to apply to XLRI programmes
Case-1: If you had registered for XAT 2018 and have applied for XLRI programmes, but have not yet paid, you can apply now without making any late fee payment.

Case-2: If you had registered for XAT 2018 and had also made the payment of registration fee but have not applied for XLRI programmes, but now wish to apply to XLRI Jamshedpur you can make payment without late fee. You can still apply by paying Rs.300/- per programme as this was the application fee for each programme at XLRI.

Case-3: If you had neither registered for XAT 2018 nor paid and had applied for XLRI, you now need to pay Rs.500/- per programme at XLRI, if you choose to apply now and till December 15, 2017.

XAT 2018 registration process
If you have not registered for XAT 2018 till now and wish to apply for the exam, visit xatonline.in and choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. A Provisional XAT ID and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional XAT ID and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional XAT ID number and Password will also be sent.

Follow the instructions to complete the XAT 2018 application form and to make payment of XAT registration fee.

Key points to note

• Registration to XAT 2018 is an online process
• First part of registration is to be completed by creating the candidate profile
• Visit xatonline.net.in click on Register, create a new account with your personal email id, you will receive a unique XAT ID and registration link.
• Click on the link and create your own password. (Next time you will be allowed to login with this XAT ID and password).
• After receiving the XAT 2018 ID, all the further steps will have to be completed with XAT ID and password.
• The application form can be accessed by login with XAT ID and will have to completed step by step.
• Select the Test City, write Name, upload photo and signature and save it.
• Select your Citizenship (Indian/ Foreign / NRI).
• If you are interested to apply for XLRI, select the programme of your choice out of Business Management (BM); Human Resource Management (HRM); and General Management Programme (GMP). If you are not interested to apply to any of the XLRI programmes, you can skip this step.
• Fill preliminary information ( Date of Birth, Gender, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Category and Phone Number etc….)
• Provide your mailing address and permanent address.
• Provide your educational qualification starting from 10th onwards.
• After completion of registration and application you will get the confirmation. You are supposed to print this XAT 2018 confirmation page for your reference. In future for all correspondence with XAT office, quote your XAT ID.

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2018 is the mandatory MBA entrance exam for admission to MBA/PGDM 2018-20 at XLRI, SPJIMR, XIMB, XIME, IMT and other more than 145 B-schools. XAT 2018 will be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on January 7, 2018 as an online computer based test. This is the first time in more than 60 years history of XAT that the exam will be conducted as an online computer based test. Online XAT 2018 will be held in 3½ hours duration from 10AM to 1.35 PM.

XAT 2018 exam will be divided in two parts. The first part with 72 questions will have 3 sections on Verbal Ability & Logical reasoning; Decision Making; Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation. The score in this part will determine your percentile and merit position.

Part-2 will have 2 sections – General Awareness and Essay Writing Test. The scores in this part will not be taken into account to determine percentile score. Except Essay Writing all the sections will have questions in MCQ format.
