CAT 2018 on November 25: IIMs announce CAT 2018 Exam date and Notification Date

IIMs have announced the CAT 2018 Exam Date. The CAT 2018 exam will be held on November 25, 2018, the last Sunday of November. The announcement on IIMCAT website says, CAT 2018 will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018. Detailed notification for CAT 2018 may be released in July / August 2018. Like past nine years, CAT 2018 will also be a Computer Based Test (CBT). It will be a single day exam and will be held over two sessions on the same day. It is expected that CAT 2018 may be conducted in more than 140 test cities and more than 400 test venues in India.
IIM Calcutta and IIM Kozhikode are the likely contenders to convene CAT 2018. During the last5 years, only these two top IIMs have not convened the Common Admission Test (CAT).
Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 is the largest MBA entrance exam in India for admission in 2019 to 20 IIMs, FMS, SPJIMR, MDI, JBIMS, IMI, IMT, NITIE, MBA programmes at IITs and hundreds of other top MBA colleges in India. More than 2 lakhs candidates appear in CAT every year. 2.32 lakh candidates appeared in CAT 2017 conducted by IIM Lucknow.
CAT 2018 Exam Pattern
Each of the 2 sessions in CAT 2018 will be of 3 hours duration. Like last year, there will be individual sectional time constraint of 1 hour for each section. Candidates will have to attempt 1 section in 60 minutes failing which they will automatically be switched to next section.

Type of questions in CAT 2018
Apart from MCQs, CAT 2018 will contain non-MCQs type of questions also. To attempt Non-MCQs candidates will have to type direct answers on the screen.
These Non-MCQs will not carry any negative marking for wrong answers and were present in last year CAT also with a weightage of 28% to the total questions.
