VGSOM to hold a National Conclave
The Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will organize a national conclave titled Purvodaya: Ascent of the East 7th and 8th April.

Aimed to bring government, industry, academia and future business leaders on a common platform to deliberate on issues confronting Eastern India in its march to prosperity. According to VGSOM, The conclave would encompass vital sectors, which would play a prominent role in Ascent of the East We hope it will generate ideas that will leave their impression on the sands of time and give solutions to those issues that act as roadblocks to the growth of the East.
The conclave will push forward various developmental agendas and dwell on implementation plans and issues.
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) will sponsor the conclave.
The Advisory Committee of the conclave will include Dr. S.K.Dube, director, IIT Kharagpur; Dr. M. Chakraborty, deputy director, IIT Kharagpur; Prof. G.S.Sanyal, advisor, VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur; and Mr. Roopen Roy, partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The program will be divided into various sessions: Mining & Manufacturing; Resurgent East: Challenges & Opportunities; Sarvunnati: The Paper Presentation; Infrastructure; Sustainable Growth and Services.
VGSOM was established in 1993, and was the first management school to be set up within the IIT system. While IIT Kharagpur is ranked as the best engineering college in India, VGSOM is not far behind: its considered to be one of the better B-schools in the country.
