CAT 2011 Day 2 .17 percent rise in number of test takers, No glitch

The Day 2 of CAT 2011 saw 6,703 candidates taking the test with no major glitch. Compared to Day 1, on Day 2 1,013 more candidates have taken the test. Like the Day 1, the second day too did not face any major tech problem.

After the successful completion of Day 1 of CAT 2011 on 22 October, the Day 2, which was Monday, October 24, 2011, also saw a successful conduct of the test with 6,703 candidates taking the test across India at different test centers. Compared to Day 1, on Day 2 1,013 more candidates have taken the test. Like the Day 1, the second day too did not face any major tech problem.

Speaking to MBAUniverse.com Prof. Janakiraman Moorthy, CAT 2011 Convener and IIM Calcutta faculty said, The number of test takers has increased from Day 1. The difficulty level of the paper has been maintained. We have not received any report of many major technical problems from any of the centers on Day 2.

Soumitra Roy, Managing Director, Prometric India has advised the candidates who are yet to take the test to carry proper identification documents to the test center. We wish to remind candidates the importance of bringing original & valid photo identification. Those using college IDs must also produce a valid ATM, credit or debit card with their name. Those without proper identification will not be allowed to test. If in doubt, candidates may bring a notarized Affidavit (in English) with photo, signature, date of birth and residential address, said Mr. Roy. Talking about the difficulty level of the test on Day 2, the CAT experts mention that the difficulty level of the exam has been similar to that of Day 1. Gautam Puri, Vice Chairman, Career Launcher said, The difficulty level of the paper was the same as Day 1, on the lines of Moderate to Difficult. An attempt of overall 45 questions would be a good attempt.

Vinayak Kudva, Product Head, IMS Learning said, The exam is more or less on the same lines.

The first day of CAT 2011 saw 5, 690 candidates taking the test. CAT 2011 is being conducted in 68 test centers across 36 cities in India. The test is being held in a 20 day window, which will end on Friday, November 18, 2011.
