IMC 2013: Demand Management mantras from NMIMS, SIMC, Jaipuria Institute @IMC 2013

How some of the B-schools have cracked puzzles facing Indian management education? What are the answers to the crises in MBA Education? What are some of the best ideas that can be applied and replicated by all B-schools to fix their challenges?

The answers will come straight from 12 IMC Awards finalists that include BIMTECH Delhi-NCR, GIM Goa, Great Lakes Chennai, IFIM Bangalore, IIM Kashipur, ITM Navi Mumbai, Jaipuria Institute of management, NMIMS, SPJIMR Mumbai, Symbiosis Pune, & TAPMI Manipal. The IMC Award 2013 finalists will present some of the most innovative ideas and unique initiatives adopted by them to cope with different challenges.

In this first feature on unique ideas implemented by IMC 2013 Awards finalists towards adding value to their MBA programmes, MBAUniverse.com brings you the innovative initiatives by IMC Awards 2013 finalist B-schools in the areas of demand management, one of the sub-themes of Indian Management Conclave 2013.

The three IMC Awards 2013 finalists under sub-theme Effective Demand Management: Developing successful engagement programs & finding niches, include Jaipuria Institute of Management; NMIMS School of Business Management, Mumbai; and Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Pune.

While here we share the unique idea and initiative taken by the three institutions and their results in brief, the case study carrying details on background, introduction, challenges, execution, and results of the initiative will be presented by the respective institutes at Indian Management Conclave on August 2-3 in New Delhi.Institute: Jaipuria Institute of Management

Initiative: Creating an Integrated and Engaging Online Presence
The institute created an integrated and engaging online presence. The group had added three more campuses over last 10 years. The group took an initiative to integrate communication channels of all the four campuses to enhance online engagement amongst students, aspirants, faculty and recruiters. As a result of the initiative, the average time spent on the institute website per visit increased two-fold and number of pages per visit increased 3 fold. The overall rank of the website also rose by 40 per cent. The most positive result was a five times increase in the number of online applications for admissions at Jaipuria Institute of Management.

Initiative: Launch of Modular Credit based Executive MBA Programme
NMIMS School of Business Management launched a Modular credit based Executive MBA programme to facilitate working executives learning requirements. With its unique features like flexibility, the programme received very encouraging response from working executives.
Institute: Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Pune
Initiative: Increasing application with focus on Quality

The institute launched a campaign to increase the number of applications as well as the quality and sustainability of applications for its different specialization in MBA programme. A 360 degree integrated campaign resulted in one-third students from the MBA batch selecting Media management as their area of specialization.
4th Indian Management Conclave:

The 4th Indian Management Conclave to be held on August 2-3 in New Delhi will have two key components IMC Conference & IMC Awards.

IMC Conference 2013:
The 2-day IMC Conference, to be held on August 2 & 3, will consist of Keynotes by Management thought-leaders, Panel discussions, Case-study presentations by IMC Award Winners, and Workshops by partners like AACSB International, EFMD/EQUIS, Harvard Business Publishing amongst others.
Confirmed keynote speakers include Mr Vineet Nayar, Vice Chairman, HCL; Dr SS Mantha, Chairman, AICTE; Dr Michael Luger, Director, Manchester Business School, UK; Dr Rajendra K Srivastava, Deputy President, Singapore Management University; Dr Zhou Lin, Dean, ACEM, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai.

IMC Awards 2013:
Starting this year, IMC Awards will be presented to B-schools & Universities for their cutting edge case-studies/initiatives on IMC themes. IMC Jury Members include Dr Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode; Dr. Devi Singh, Director, IIM Lucknow; Fr. E.
