AICTE has cancelled the CMAT 2015 September test which was expected to be held in September 2015
AICTE, the authority that conducts Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is still keeping the CMAT aspirants in dark without sharing any information in this regard on its site

Proposed to go for some policy changes in conducting the half yearly CMAT exams, AICTE has cancelled the CMAT 2015 Sep test which was expected to be held in September 2015. Despite all the assurances that the necessary information on CMAT 2015 Sep would be available in the first week of August, 2015, AICTE has not been able to synchronize the things and CMAT appears to have been deferred to January 2016.

Earlier on July 28, 2015 sharing with MBAUniverse.com Dr. N.H. Siddalinga Swamy, Director e-governance AICTE had confirmed “In a week’s time complete information about next CMAT & GPAT examination will be made public”.  But now it has been reported that the test is not going to happen in 2015.

AICTE creating panic
On the top of it All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the authority that conducts Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is still keeping the CMAT aspirants in dark without sharing any information in this regard on its site and still the site displays the information about CMAT 2015 (2nd test) which was held in February 2015.

No availability of authentic information on AICTE site has created panic among the prospective CMAT takers and has strengthened the belief only that Government authorities like AICTE are not concerned about the future of the students and are unable to envision the future of Indian Management Education not to say of making it put the global footprint.

Creditability of AICTE at stake
While postponing or cancellation of any exam is not something new in India, the important is not publishing information in public domain. For CMAT Sep exam, AICTE used to publish the notification in the first week of July every year. Instead of publishing the notification, AICTE has preferred to keep mum on the issue of conducting the CMAT 2015 Sep. When contacted specifically, it was assured that the necessary information would be available in a week’s time which is also over.

The clouds on conduct of CMAT 2015 Sep will continue hovering the minds of aspirants till the official announcement with complete details are not published by AICTE on its site, an action the AICTE should promptly take to clear the confusion whether it is going to be a half yearly or yearly exercise in future.

CMAT was supposed to offer 2 opportunities of taking test for MBA/PGDM admission in 2016 to the B-schools with AICTE approved management programmes. The first test was regularly conducted in the month of September and second test in the month of February every year till the admission session 2015-16. The sudden twist of not conducting CMAT in Sep 2015 as the first CMAT for admission to B-schools in 2016 has taken thousands of aspirants off-guard questioning the viability of sudden decision without sharing any information in public domain.
