CAT 2015: 101 Non-IIMs register; JBIMS, Great Lakes still out; last date today-few hours left

The list of Non-IIM member B-schools authorized to accept CAT 2015 scores has surpassed past record and one day still remains to expand this number further. The earlier list of Non-IIM member institutes comprised total 81 B-schools. The number was shorter by only a few B-schools, but the fresh updated list of Non-IIM member institutes despite containing 101 B-schools does not have JBIMS, Great lakes among others. It is expected that this number will further increase after August 20 and the highly ranked B schools which are not included in the list will also find a place.

Number of Non-IIM institutes who propose to use CAT 2015 scores as the shortlisting criteria for admission to their flagship MBA/PGDM programmes 2016-18 but are still not authorized as they did not complete the requisite formalities have been granted the opportunity to get listed with CAT 2015 non-IIM member institutes latest by August 20, 2015.

Responding to MBAUniverse.com query on the status of some highly ranked B-schools like JBIMS, Great lakes which are not included in the list of Non-IIMs using CAT 2015 scores, the CAT Centre 2015 said There was a deadline to complete the formalities. For the requests received of late, we have set the deadline as August 20th.

CAT Centre 2015 earlier asked all the Non-IIMs to complete the formalities by August 5, 2015 but due to one or other reason the process remained incomplete and number of good B-schools were excluded from the list of institutes authorized to accept CAT 2015 scores in their admission process 2016.

In case the formalities are still not completed by August 20, 2015, it may not be possible for these B-schools after the deadline to get their names figured in the list of CAT 2015 score accepting institutes.
Non-IIMs go up from 81 to 101

Among the Non-IIM member institutions as shared by CAT Centre 2015, the highest number of B-schools is from Karnataka. The state has 15 non-IIM member B-schools out of total 101, representing more than 15% institutions.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, the CAT 2015 convening institute has released the list of area-wise B schools which includes University affiliated and private B-schools who will accept CAT 2015 scores as one of the admission criteria for the MBA/PGDM batch 2016-18. There are 3 Non-IIM B-schools in Andhra Pradesh who will accept CAT 2015 scores as advised by IIM Ahmedabad

It appears that number of top B-schools in Maharashtra have not been able to enrol themselves because of which their names and addresses on CAT 2015 site are not visible. For example JBIMS accepts only CAT and MAHCET scores but its name does not appear in the list of Non-IIM member institutions. It is expected that the remaining B-schools in Maharashtra will finalize the required formalities by August 20, 2015
