CAT 2021 Result Released: 9 out of 1.92 Lakh CAT Takers Score 100 Percentile; IIMs to Announce Shortlist Soon; Check top MBA colleges Available for Admission

CAT 2021 result was released by IIM Ahmedabad on January 3, 2022 at 5 PM instead of earlier announced CAT result date second week of January. You can download your CAT Score card from official CAT website iimcat.ac.in in a single click after login with your CAT ID and password.

CAT 2021 Result: Key Highlights

• Number of CAT Toppers with 100 Percentile Remain Same as Last Year: There are 9 Candidates who have scored 100 percentile in CAT 2021. The number is same as was in CAT 2020 result
• 2 Non-Engineers among CAT Toppers 2021: Out of the 9 CAT 100 percentilers, 2 candidates are from Non-Engineering back ground while 7 are engineers
• No Female scored 100 Percentile: All the candidates who scored 100 percentile in CAT 2021 are male like last year in CAT 2020.
• No Female Scored 99.99 Percentile: 19 candidates have scored 99.99 percentile. All these CAT toppers are Male. Among them 16 are Engineers and 3 are Non Engineers
• Out of 19 candidates, only 1 Female scored 99.98 Percentile: 19 Candidates have scored 99.98 percentile in CAT 2021. Out of them 18 are Male and 1 is female candidate.
• Maximum CAT 2021 Toppers from Maharashtra: Despite all the turbulence and high Covid alert, Maharashtra has emerged as the top State with highest number of toppers in CAT 2021

How to Download CAT Result 2021?  Complete the Process in 3 Steps
The steps to have access and download CAT Result 2021 are:

Step-1: Visit CAT website iimcat.ac.in and click on ‘CAT 2021 Score Card Download’ at home page

Step-2: At the Login window, you should login with your registered CAT id and password as existing user

Step-3: Click on ‘download score card’. Now you can view and download your CAT score card. After downloading the CAT result 2021, it is suggested to take print of your score card for CAT Result 2021. Your CAT score card contains your scaled and percentile scores.

IIMs to Start Shortlisting Now
All the 20 IIMs and other top MBA colleges have announced their admission criteria. While IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta will release their shortlists in a day or two with the release of CAT result now, other IIMs will announce their shortlists after a few days. IIMs will now release their shortlists for subsequent admission processes based on, among other things, the CAT 2021 scores. 88 non-IIM institutions will also use CAT 2021 scores this year for admission into their management programmes. * The CAP participating new generation IIMs shortlists will be released for CAP round in January and their individual shortlists with lower cut offs will be released in April after obtaining confirmation of interest from the eligible candidates

Top B-Schools with Admission Open
Many top MBA colleges accepting CAT are still open with their application process for admission 2022.

IIM Ahmedabad conducted CAT exam on November 28, 2021 in three slots in 156 test cities and more than 430 test centres– highest number of CAT test cities and test venues so far.  Around 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of 2.30 lakhs registered eligible candidates. The overall attendance was approximately 83%. Out of the 1.92 lakh candidates taken the exam, 35% were Females, 65% Males and 2 candidates were Transgender.

Prof M P Ram Mohan, faculty at IIM Ahmedabad, was the Convener of CAT exam 2021. Braving the challenges of Covid-19, the CAT convener conducted CAT on time in three slots with reduced time limit of two hours and reduced number of 66 questions. This is the second time that Common Admission Test (CAT) was conducted in three slots and was a good success.

IIM Ahmedabad released the CAT answer key along with candidate response sheet on Dec 8, 2021 to enable the test takers to check and verify their responses with the correct answers. In case of any doubt they could raise objection till December 11, to the answers provided by IIMs. CAT result 2021 will be  released only after verifying all the objections received from the candidates by IIM  Ahmedabad.
