CMAT 2023 Result Released

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the CMAT 2023 Result on May 31, 2023 for 58035 test takers who appeared in CMAT exam on May 4, 2023 with many changes. Throwing surprises, NTA  released the CMAT 2023 exam result a few days before the release of CMAT final answer key,  Otherwise the practice is that the final answer key is released before the release of exam result. Besides, again making changes in the CMAT score card from last year, this year NTA has displayed overall sectional and overall percentile score and All India Rank in the CMAT 2023 score card but there is no raw score. Last year there was only raw score and All India Rank in the CMAT score card but there was no percentile score.

CMAT 2023 exam was conducted in two shifts and the result has been released after normalization of percentile score for both the slots. B-schools had no clue what would NTA include in the CMAT score card this year, and had planned to keep their cut off based on Raw score and All India Rank, but the Raw score was not made available. The cut offs are released by the respective B-schools. The Candidates can check the B school PGDM cut off percentile.

Higher Score in Slot-1 Gets Lower AIR
CMAT 2023 shift-1 test takers are raising the voice that despite scoring higher, the All India Rank awarded to them in CMAT is lower than the AIR awarded to the corresponding score in shift-2. One of the CMAT slot-1 test takers have reported that his CMAT slot 1 raw score as calculated was 242 but his Overall NTA percentile score is 96.28 and AIR is 2161, on the other hand one of the candidate’s slot 2 raw score is 210 with NTA percentile score of 99.48 and AIR is 301. It appears that slot-2 of CMAT was more difficult than slot-1 due to which despite scoring higher in slot-1, CMAT aspirants have score lower NTA percentile score and AIR.

Students waiting for Cut offs
All through the earlier CMAT exams, the test takers could immediately apply for admission after release of CMAT result as it contained complete list with Percentile score, Raw score and Rank. Since all the institutes announce their likely CMAT cut off percentile well in advance, it was easy for the applicants to check their corresponding percentile and apply. This year again they are unable to follow this rule as NTA has refrained from releasing the CMAT raw score obtained by the test takers while last year NTA did not release the percentile score.

Admission Heads On the Task
All the leading management institutes accepting CMAT score have to decide their cut off based on percentile score or rank or both. These B schools like GIM Goa, Great Lakes, K J Somaiya, BIMTECH, IMT Nagpur had already announced their expected cut off percentile for CMAT exam.
