US B-schools, who participated in Economist MBA Ranking after a one-year break, dislodged European B-schools in a big way to seize the top ranks. Two-thirds of the top 50 B-schools in the Economist Rankings are American. This has led to massive changes in the ranking order. From India, only ISB and IIM Ahmedabad are ranked in this survey, with relatively low ranks.

Harvard Business School, Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management are ranked No 1, 2, 3 respectively. HEC Paris Business School, ranked #7, is the highest ranked non-US B-schools while ISB is ranked #75, and IIM Ahmedabad is ranked #99.

Refer table below.

The ranking has reinforced ISB’s claim as the #1 business school in India. ISB has been ranked #5 in Asia and #75 globally. Professor Ramabhadran Thirumalai, Deputy Dean – Academic Programmes, said, “ISB continues to be a top-ranked business school in the country. This has been made possible due to the holistic and futuristic approaches adopted by the school. ISB would continue to reinvent itself…”
