Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Hon’ble Former President of India, to deliver Valedictory Address and Present IMC Awards

The countdown to IMC 2022, India’s most respected MBA education conference, has begun! India’s top Policy Makers, Business Icons, Management Education Doyens and Opinion-shapers are coming together for the 12th INDIAN MANAGAMENT CONCLAVE (IMC), to be held on December 9-10 at IIM Kozhikode. Honourable Former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, will be the Chief Guest and will deliver the Conference Valedictory Address. He will also present IMC Awards for Excellence in Management Education on December 10.

A formal communication from Former President’s office, confirming the acceptance, states “The Hon’ble Former President has agreed to be the Chief Guest at Indian Management Conclave to deliver Valedictory Address. He has also agreed to present IMC Awards.” Earlier, the IMC Founder & Convener, Mr Amit Agnihotri, along with senior management educationists, had met Shri Kovind, to share about IMC Conference Journey and to invite him to the 12th edition. The meeting lasted for more than half an hour and the Former President was very much positive and had assured to consider the request. The 12th Indian Management Conclave is delighted to welcome and host the much-respected Former President of India at IIM Kozhikode campus.

Coming from a humble back ground, Shri Ram Nath Kovind served India as its 14th President from 2017 to 2022. During his tenure at the highest constitutional office, he  discharged his duties with foresight and humility. During his State Visits to 33 countries, enhancing India’s global outreach and footprint, President Kovind conveyed India’s timeless message of peace, progress and harmony.

Shri Kovind joins Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, many CEOs including Mr Suresh Narayanan, CMD, Nestle India; Mr Shyam Srinivasan, MD & CEO, Federal Bank and leading management educators from Top B-schools who will be addressing IMC 2022. Shri Kovind – A staunch Advocate for Social Equality and Justice 
Shri Ram Nath Kovind was the 14th President of India. His term of office was from 25th July, 2017 to 25th July, 2022. A lawyer by profession, he had been the Governor of the State of Bihar before he took over the highest constitutional office. Shri Kovind brought to the office a rich experience of working across the spectrum of the republic, from the grassroots to the apex court and parliament. He has been an ardent champion of equality in society and integrity in public life. From 1980 to 1993, he was Standing Counsel for the Union Government in the Supreme Court. Under the Free Legal Aid Society of New Delhi, he also provided pro-bono aid to weaker sections of society, especially women and the poor.

Shri Kovind was elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha, from Uttar Pradesh effective from April 1994. He served two consecutive terms of six years each till March 2006. Shri Kovind’s achievements as a Governor burnished his credentials as a candidate for the Presidency in 2017. After his election to the highest constitutional office, he has discharged his duties as the first citizen of India with foresight and humility. He has paid State Visits to 33 countries till June 2022 enhancing India’s global outreach and footprint. On these State Visits, President Kovind conveyed India’s timeless message of peace, progress and harmony.

Shri Kovind is an ardent advocate of education as a tool for social empowerment and actively supports greater participation of women in nation-building and has been consistently calling for the society to create more opportunities for the deprived sections, especially the disabled and the orphans.

Former President of India to present IMC Awards 2022
12th IMC 2022 is set to welcome the 14th President of India on December 10 as the Chief Guest at Valedictory Function. On the occasion, he shall present IMC Awards for Excellence in Management Education, popularly known as IMC Awards. The IMC Awards are presented to identify, document and recognize the Best-practices and successful Initiatives undertaken by Indian B-schools in strategic areas like Admissions Management, Curriculum & Pedagogy, Industry-engagement and Education Technology. Indian Management Conclave (IMC) Awards were launched in 2013 to further the vision of IMC Conference. Today, IMC Awards are India's most prestigious Awards for Excellence in Management Education.

Award winners 2022 will be selected by an eminent jury after a rigorous multi round selection process. The best shortlisted entries will be making final presentation during the IMC Conference on December 10.
