Along with the beginning of awarding the MBA degree in place of diplomas, IIM Ahmedabad has decided to increase its fee structure further. On the occasion of Convocation 2019, IIM Ahmedabad has also announced to increase its 2 year programme fee to Rs.23 lakhs for the 2019-21 batch from earlier Rs.22 lakhs.
For the consecutive 3rd year in a row, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad has announced to increase the fee for its PGDM programmes. The Fee was increased in the year 2018 to Rs.22 lakhs and now it has again been hiked to Rs.23 lakhs effective from the academic year 2019-20.
Announcing the decision of the premier B-school, Prof. Errol D'Souza, director IIM Ahmedabad has shared that the fee hike has been decided after considering the inflation. IIM Ahmedabad Board of Governors has also approved the fee increase.

Starts Awarding MBA Degree Instead of Diploma
In its convocation 2019, IIM Ahmedabad has awarded MBA degree to the passing out students of PGP 2017-19; PGP-FABM-2017-19; PGPX 2018-19. Till last year, IIM Ahmedabad awarded post graduate diplomas in management. With the passing of IIM Act 2017, IIM Ahmedabad has decided to award MBA degree in place of diploma for the first time.
Now all the subsequent batches will be awarded MBA degree which will help them to pursue higher studies globally without looking for any MBA equivalence certificate by IIM Ahmedabad.

Little Impact of Fee Hike
The fee hike at IIM Ahmedabad does not appear to have made any impact on MBA aspirants, as the placement in 2019 has gone very high and with the anticipated high RoI, MBA aspirants are ready to face some hardship for a year or two after completion of their MBA while making repayment of the funds they propose to borrow from banks to fund their MBA education.
Intake Increase not Announced
No increase in seats in any of the flagship post graduate programmes is proposed by IIM Ahmedabad in the academic year 2019-21. However, IIM Ahmedabad will have 2 sections for its PGPX (one year Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives) programme.
1/3rd students to get financial aid
Financial aid for deserving students will continue as before. The number of such students is about one-third of IIM Ahmedabad class.
