IIM Bangalore MBA Batch Profile 2025-27: IIMB Admits Largest ever Batch of 622 Students
IIM Bangalore has admitted its largest-ever batch for the 2025-27 academic session, with a total of 622 students joining its two full-time MBA programmes. IIM Bangalore has admitted 544 students to flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) programme, and 78 students to Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGPBA) programme. IIM Bangalore welcomes largest MBA Batch
The inauguration ceremony for the new IIM Bangalore Batch 2025-27 that was held at the IIMB campus on 9 June 2025. On behalf of the institution, Prof. Kunal Dasgupta, Chairperson, Admissions & Financial Aid, and faculty in the Economics area, welcomed the students. He congratulated them on clearing “a long, rigorous, and highly competitive selection process.” Prof. Dasgupta shared that the 2025–27 cohort is IIMB’s largest ever, with a total of 622 students enrolled across the PGP and PGPBA programmes.

IIM Bangalore has shared that the new batch comprises students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. IIM Bangalore has also confirmed that students of four different nationalities have also joined the institution.
Prof. Dasgupta highlighted “consistent growth in diversity and female representation over the last decade” at IIM Bangalore. He encouraged students to appreciate the value of diverse student mix, which he described as one of the greatest learning assets.
Chief Guest Media Personality Ronnie Screwvala
The inauguration ceremony for IIM Bangalore batch 2025-27 saw keynote address by entrepreneur, investor, and film producer Ronnie Screwvala. In his address, Ronnie Screwvala noted that he is “more a product of soft skills than hard skills.” He emphasized the power of collaboration, communication, and teamwork, likening his experience in theatre to building leadership capacity and emotional intelligence. “Soft skills do not have an expiry date. They stay with you. They help you lead, build trust, and connect something that hard skills often cannot.”
During the address, Mr Screwvala shared highlights from his ventures in media, sports, education, and philanthropy. He highlighted the importance of staying consumer-focused, adapting with agility, and building a values-oriented brand. He encouraged students to abandon the safety net of a ‘Plan B’ and instead, pour themselves wholly into their chosen path.
Welcome Address by Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan
During the inaugural address, Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIMB, welcomed the incoming class with warmth. He highlighted the importance of cultivating multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary thinking. He added that creativity of thought, critical analysis, and tacit knowledge are invaluable differentiators in an AI-augmented world. He also urged the cohort to develop execution skills, empathy, and strong people management abilities. He further added that interpersonal competence is as critical as technical expertise.
Motivating the students to find their calling, Prof. Krishnan said: “Your journey here is not just about building a résumé. It’s about discovering your hidden potential, your purpose, and learning how to lead with integrity, empathy, and vision.”
Address by IIM Bangalore Students’ Affairs Council President
Revanth Reddy, a student of PGP Class of 2026 and President of IIMB’s Students’ Affairs Council (SAC), looked back at his journey at IIMB and said that learning at IIMB comes from world-class faculty, and students grow not only through academics but also through sports, cultural exchanges, and peer interactions. He reminded students that “Every person here is a teacher.”
