In this regard, the Institute provides Special Need-Based Scholarships (SNBS) with the provision of a fee waiver to eligible students. The eligibility of the students for the scholarship is determined by their credit status and their annual family income.

IIM Nagpur facilitates a number of scholarships which are awarded by the Government of India and various state governments. Some of these scholarships are:

The Institute also facilitates scholarships awarded by corporates and private organizations.

IIM Nagpur admission criteria 2020 consist of many shortlisting parameters apart from CAT 2019 exam score for final selection round. Mentored by IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Nagpur has conducted its own PI-WAT round for final selection instead of participating in Common Admission Process (CAP) 2020 for new IIMs.

The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) of IIM Nagpur is a master’s level programme and is the flagship programme offered by IIM Nagpur. The 2 years Post Graduate Programme (PGP) at IIM Nagpur has been accorded equivalence with Master’s degree of an Indian University by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for the purpose of admission to higher studies.

Admission Process to Identify Suitable Candidates
IIM Nagpur Admission Criteria 2020 seek to identify the most promising candidates for the PGP batch of 2020. The Institute uses parameters like Past Academic Performance in 10th standard examination, 12th standard examination and Bachelor’s degree examination, candidates’ scores in CAT, academic and gender diversity, work experience to shortlist the candidates for final selection round. The performance in Personal Interview and Written Ability Test are meant to judge the suitability of candidates for the PGP program. Besides, relevant work experience, if any, is also given weight in the admission process.

Less Weightage to CAT 2019 Score
IIM Nagpur has used the CAT 2019 score to establish the minimum level of proficiency that is expected from the candidate in respective areas as indicated by section wise minimum scores in the CAT. While in the shortlisting process, CAT 2019 score is awarded 35% weight, in the final selection criteria, the weight for CAT 2019 exam score is only 20%.  Multiple criteria are used to arrive at a Final Score while making final admission offer. IIM Nagpur admission criteria 2020 adopted a phased selection process and the selection criteria are applied in three phases. The admission criteria, parameters and weights used are uniform for all categories of candidates.

It is mandatory for the candidates who wish to pursue MBA from IIM Nagpur to have appeared in the CAT 2019 exam which was held on November 24, 2019. A balanced score in all the three sections of CAT 2019 and good academic profile has remained the key to get admission in IIM Nagpur.

IIM Nagpur Admission Criteria
IIM Nagpur Admission 2020 is a three step process – Pre shortlisting criteria, Shortlisting criteria for PI-WAT with  35% weight for CAT 2019 score, followed by Final admission selection Criteria comprising PI-WAT with only 20% weightage to CAT 2019 score.

IIM Nagpur uses multiple parameters and award high weightage to academic performance in Class 10 and 12, bachelor’s degree as well as the section wise scores in CAT exam to judge the suitability of candidates for the PGP programme.

So, given the relatively short time in which the admission process of IIM Nagpur happens, the institute wants the interested candidates to reconfirm their interest. Since, the admission offers in each IIM are independent of others and therefore accepting or rejecting an offer from any other IIM will not affect your chances in IIM Nagpur, or vice versa.

C. Shortlisting Criteria for PI-WAT

  • Only those candidates who meet the minimum CAT 2019 percentiles requirements, and have reconfirmed their interest, by the stipulated date, for admission to PGP 2020-22 of IIM Nagpur will be considered in Phase 2 of Shortlisting for PI-WAT round

  • CAT 2019 score will be awarded 35% weightage in shortlisting criteria
